Had this on-tap at CCB's tasting room during the Hunahpu release even on September 24, 2011.
A: very dark brown, almost black body with a superficial tanned coffee head that dissipated quick. No lacing present.
S: a bit mute, but had slight hints of milk chocolate, malts and medicinal aromas.
T: notes of milk chocolate, coffee, vanilla and malts present. As the beer warmed those flavors got stronger with a predominant sweet milk chocolate note. Beer leaves a coffee aftertaste.
M: the first few sips presented a very high carbonation which bothered a bit, but as the beer warmed up the carbonation dropped considerably making the beer more drinkable and smoother. Medium body.
O: it was a good way to start the evening with this beer, which definitely starts shining after it warms up a bit.

On tap @ Dark Lord Day 2011.
Served in a 10oz? cup and poured into a snifter by me! I think this was $10. Described as "CCB Puppy's Breath brewed with milk sugar". Not sure if this was a Baltic porter like Puppy's Breath though - the taste certainly had more in common with an American Robust. We B-lined it straight to the guest taps for this and BCS Rare.
The beer looks fantastic in the snifter. The tap "wasn't cooperating" AKA pouring a bit heady, but, once they got past that, a wonderful black/dark brown beer sits under a huge billowing capucchino colored head. Nice lace is left behind. Great start to DLD and to the first beer!
The smell is heavenly. Layers of milk chocolate and roasted malt give coffee, cream and cacao impressions. There's a great lactose sweetness that jumps out of the glass. Perfect balance and nice depth.
The taste is also impressive. There's a nice sweetness that balances the roasted malts, with a creamy milk sugar flavor holding the coffee and chocolate from the roasted malts in check. A hint of vanilla and very mild bitterness make this drink like a sublime desert beer.
The mouthfeel on this beer is equally impressive. Creamy as all get-out, with some lingering sweetness from the milk sugar and bitterness from the roast. Overall, this was fantastic, one of the best lactose sugar beers I've ever had. Really, really well done!
