Thanks to EyeDrinkAle for this one

A: Great color with a dark tan head. Good carbonation on the pour

S: This smells amazing. Rum coming in hot right from the start with the raisons soon to follow. Bits of roast poke through. This is going to be sweet

T: Sweet is correct. As sweet as this is it comes through fantastically. A bit of oxidation peeks out but merries up nicely with the sweetness and roastiness. This is a total rum bomb.

M: This beer just absolutely buries any booziness what so ever. Great carbonation that has held up nicely. Thickness is spot on.

Overall: I really had no preconceived notions going into this getting it from a LIF and doing absolutely no research. Oh how happy I am right now.

750 ml bottle served in a CCB snifter.

A: Pours an opaque black color with a dark tan head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin film that some splotches of lace down the glass.

S: Lots of dark fruit flavors, mainly the raisin, with a little bit of rum sweetness. Some oak barrel with a little milk chocolate and roasted malts.

T: Same as the nose, but much more oak and it's tough to pick out the rum flavors. Light bready malts mix with roasted malt notes. Slight spice.

M: Medium to heavy bodied. Lower carbonation than I would have liked.

O: I'm just not a fan of beers aged in rum barrels. I feel like it doesn't pick up enough of the spirit flavors and the actually barrel itself takes over the flavor. Definitely solid, but nothing worth going out of your way for.

Bottle, shared at a NWI tasting group night. Thanks Nasty31.

A - Dark chocolate brown with no head or any signs of carbonation. Medium body

S - Lots of rum raisin up front with a nice whiff of cinnamon spice. Light vanilla

T - Lots of rum in this that hits you up front. Then there is raisins and dark fruit that makes it taste like rum raisin pudding. Vanilla sweetness and caramel with light cinnamon. Thick fudgy chocolate hits on the end. Very nice complex beer 4.5

MF - Thick chewy beer with low carbonation. Thick fudge like body. Finish has light oak and a thick residue that remains on the tongue and thick reside with light oak finish. 4

O - Haven't had too many rum aged beers but this one does it right. Love that's it nice and fudgy with some light raisins and cinnamon

Served in oversized snifter

A- Dark tan head, subtle but sticky lacing and black as night.

S - The second i popped this bad boy I smelled a tobacco rum/bourbon boozyness that was amazing... later I am getting dark fruit; raisin cherries , coffee, more leathery tobacco...all I can say is wow.

T - Light spiced rum, coffee, dark fruits... it is matching the nose perfectly and not disappointing. I am loving the tobacco leather flavors that come out at the end. I am not geting much of the cinnamon, it seems to have all melded together perfectly in my opinion.

M - Smooth... need I say more

O - Big thanks to brianlindman, he is a great trader and willing to work with you for a trade! I am pumped I was able to land this beer as it is a one off. All I have to say is drink this now or look me up and I will trade you for it! I don't know if it will get any better.

Thanks a ton to cpinto6 for this beauty. Shared with many good friends.

Pours no head but it has thick black legs, almost pitch black color and an oily sleen, very dark head forms when I swirl.

Nose has big malt, some roast, coffee, a big raisin explosion, and even cinnamon, brandy, booze, syrupy fig, light caramel and molasses, cocoa, light vanilla, sweet rum, light spicy and tingly booze, nutty, very glog like, and a bit of chalky chocolate powder.

Taste has sweet malts, thin but rich, melted chocolate, chocolate water actually, some malt, caramel and nutty, vanilla, plenty of roast, light coffee, nice dark chocolate, bitter roast, then rum soaked raisins, fig, cinnamon again, rich and dark but tasty. Finish is semi sweet, rum and raisins, light bitter roast, chocolate, creamy, etc.

Mouth is med bodied, decent but lighter carb, bit of warming booze.

Overall pretty good but not as great as I expected, decent malts, nice fruits and booze flavors, tasty overall but not amazing.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to an oily film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass and a sticky layer of beer coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, soy sauce, cocoa, and alcohol. Taste is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, cookie dough, wood and rum. There is an alcohol kick in the back of the throat with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp but sticky and thick mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty but quite strong.
