Poured into a pint glass pours a orange hue with a minimal head that leaves no lace on the glass. Smell is very sweet like nectar, with hints of light sweet molasses. Taste?, where is the hops on this beer it is all sweet with no malt and hop finish, like drinking tropical fruit nectar. Overall this has to be one of the dissapointing beers that I have had from this great brewer, drain pour.

Reviewed from notes. Had out of a firkin at CCB tasting room. Poured into a snifter glass.
A: Deep caramel in color, translucent, with a one-finger khaki head and no visible carbonation.
S: Sweet malts, a bit of pine & citrus hops, and boozy. Some roasted caramel.
T: Follows the nose very closely. The hoppiness is still trying to hold on but is clearly losing the battle. Still a little alcohol heat but it does seem tamed. Overall a nice sweetness here.
M: Medium body, smooth & silky mouthfeel. Boozy but the alcohol heat doesn't overwhelm. Minimal carbonation sensation, likely due in part to the firkin serving.
O: Wow, this was very good, and I'm glad I had the chance to try it! Guess they had this one aging for the last couple years. I never had the opportunity to try it fresh, but it sure was tasty as is!

Pours a beautiful but thin golden red color – really beautiful. A small white head tops the beer and quickly recedes. Smells of deep citrus hops so very fruity. First sip has shown some age but this one was kept in my fridge since purchase. The hops have so faded but in its place a pleasant maltiness shines thru to the point of being both chewy and doughy. Super candy sweet notes are upfront and in your face without the hops to balance it. Plenty of toffee too. I keep thinking how nice it would be to have this one fresh and on cedar. I had this one fresh and enjoyed it more than the aged version. Pretty tough to drink but I’ll manage.
