Reviewed from notes. Had out of a firkin at CCB tasting room. Poured into a snifter glass.
A: Black and opaque with a nice one-finger mocha head of very fine bubbles, and low visible carbonation (firkin).
S: Huge coffee, and sweet cream tobacco, sweet leather, and a bit of cacao.
T: Roasted coffee, creamy lactose sweet, a bit of very dark chocolate, tobacco, and maybe hints of dark fruit (figs/plums). A touch of hop bitterness at the end.
M: Low carbonation sensation, likely due at least in part to the serving type. This is smooth as hell, absolutely amazing mouthfeel for a coffee stout. Moderate alcohol presence.
O: Wow. This was a great beer. I think the firkin was an ideal way to drink this. I would be curious to try it on standard tap to compare. Although, as good as this was...let's be honest, I'd just like to drink more of it. Very recommended.

This one shared courtesy of preismj- thanks Matt! Appearance is dark with minimal head. The nose is simply amazing with amazing creamy coffee notes among heavy notes of caramel and molasses. Smells like a decadent treat. Unfortunately, the taste doesn't live up to the nose. Bitter chocolate and coffee up front with an overall thin taste. The mouthfeel has a decent viscosity with mellow carbonation. Overall, this smells amazing, but something was lost in the flavor. Still a great beer.

A: very dark brown. Almost black in color. Barely any head, but what does form is a thin dark cream. Little retention. Appears flat.
S: yeah, smells like coffee. And there is a slight coffee sourness, perceptible, but not overwhelming.
T: strong taste of coffee. Espresso actually. Moderate sweetness and very light lactose quality. Dark , deep roasted malts. A bit of char. Coffee bitterness on the finish.
M: full bodied, chalky, moderated bitterness.
O: a nice beer. Certainly heavy on the coffee, which I imagine it should be.

Appearance: Arrives at the bar looking like a very fine stout; black color, big tan head and plenty of lacing
Smell: Eponymous aromatics - smells just like a Cafe Con Leche
Taste: Roasty coffee with lactose, up front, with hints of chocolate and tobacco developing in the middle; just a bit of bitterness in the profile before the sweeter flavors dominate the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A bit of a gimmick here, making the beer taste the way it does but oh so good

Had this on tap at CCB in a 12oz snifter. I noticed that this site has the ABV listed at 6% but it is definitely 8%, which is why it was served in a smaller glass.
I'm going to be rating this high but should probably go even higher. This brew looked great in color and head. It smelled great but I have seen a few better, but not many. I was creamy, thick, and perfectly balanced. I didn't want to leave but had to fly home. If you like a stout that has some kick and isn't watery, this is one that shouldn't be missed.
