Sweet, roasty and always invigorating, traditional Latin American cafe con leche coffee can be found nearly everywhere in our hometown of Tampa, Florida and serves as the inspiration for our Cafe Con Leche Sweet Stout. The beer is made with bold, strong coffee beans to emulate the most characterful Cuban espresso and lactose, a milk sugar that adds sweetness, body and flavors reminiscent of scalded milk. We’ve also added cacao nibs to further enhance the satisfying chocolate quality of the beer. Despite it’s assertive flavors and full body, our sweet stout is deceptively low in alcohol, making it the perfect accompaniment to a late-morning plate of eggs, bacon and tostadas.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, minimal tan head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee, cocoa and lactose. The flavour has a slight fruitiness which makes it very drinkable, and has otherwise the same elements as the aroma. Not too sweet, moderate hops.

Palate Contaminants: other beer
Super dark brown color, and minimal light at the edge. Very fine head with little lacing.
Sweet woodsiness and very dark coffee are the main scents. Maybe there are some prunes and figs, but the coffee just dominates everything.
There's a little more to compete with the coffee in the taste. Red bell pepper is one of the first tastes I get. Dark wood (like mahogany) and non-savory Brazil nut. The lactic element is there, but it takes some searching. It becomes more vegetative as it warms up, and that taste is akin to green coffee beans. Bitterness is less than suggested by the nose.
The aftertaste has the dark coffee returning, and it almost espresso strong. Weight is moderate for the type, and alcohol is minimal. Not a lot of carbonation.

Nitro
A: silky black/dark brown color with a solid tan nitro head
S: huge hit of coffee beans and milk. Milk chocolate and roasted malt behind that. More coffee to finish
T: follows the nose very close. Roasted coffee beans, milk chocolate and roasted malt upfront. A touch of sweet lactose on the middle of the tongue. Finish is dry and coffee
M: medium, silky nitro mouthfeel
O: awesome beer. Sweet and roasty with nice coffee flavors. Nice balance and easy to drink

Had on nitro pour at Lures Bar & Grille. Looks great, nice dark pour with a pretty tan head. Smells awesome - roasted coffee, chocolate, dark malts, maybe some vanilla. Unfortunately the flavor and feel are kind of watery. The flavor is similar to the taste but severely lacking (although I do pick up some scalded milk as the description promised...yay). At 6% abv I didn't expect this to be so watery despite the nitro pour.
