22oz bottle into Duvel tulip.
Appearance: Free pour yields a 3/4 inch frothy white head that dissipates quickly. Pours a hazy orange-tinged yellow. No lacing to speak of.
Smell: Orange and a floral, cologne-like Belgian yeast aroma. Pretty citrusy and understated.
Taste: Spicy rye up front, along with some lemon/grapefruit citrus flavor, leading to a lot of malt and grain flavors held up by the fullish body and a constant undertone of a really classy Belgian yeast... This yeast flavor is great. Finishes very dry with a lingering lemon/grapefruit aftertaste.
Very impressively crafted beer; balanced just right, tons of flavor for the ABV but not overwhelming or brash, prominent rye that doesn't steal the whole flavor, excellent body.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, with a bit of a full feel (I assume from the oats). High side of moderate carbonation. Very dry, which I love.
Overall: Excellent beer. Seems to have some subtly incorporated citrusy American hops, a great yeast flavor profile, and an almost perfect mouthfeel. This is a beer to win arguments against people who think low ABV means boring flavor.

Thanks merc.
The beer pours a hazy amber orange with a thin white head that fades quickly. The nose is spicy, grainy, citrus hoppy, and distinct. It's a very unique smelling beer that takes me by surprise. The taste is veerryyy grainy, distinctly rye based with additional wheat for back up. The spice profile compliments the rye, although I'm not certain exactly what spices they used...As stated, this is an unexpectedly tasty beer that packs a huge rye punch. It's completely worth trying again and I'll seek out bottles in the future.

Pours a pretty opaque orange. Nice white head to start settles to a thin ring of bubbles pretty quickly. Very spotty lacings at the top of the glass.
Bright sunny hops on the nose. Mostly lemon zest, bit of cat's pee (yeah, I said it). Light yeast floating around in the back.
That zest kicks things off, right up front. Big juicy hit of citrus doesn't really give up, but you are able to gradually pick out nice peppery spice and dusty Belgian yeast. Such an interesting malt profile with pronounced rye, barley, and wheat. Hops are a littley clingy in the finish. Citrus zing bring you back for another sip.
A really great American saison. Simple hop profile contrasts really well with a complex malt backbone. Love it.
