Named after a boy who, in 1889, might have set fire to half of the town Köping.

Pours black with fine, light brown head.
Smell is straight up Lagavulin. Peaty, smoky, malty with notes of cured meat.
Taste is smoky and peaty but with some notes of tar and burnt wood that gets a bit overwhelming. Not subtle at all.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a little bit too much liked smoky whisky for it's own good.

The beer is clouded dark brown with hints of red, a small tan head with some lacing and curtains.
The smell is burned wood that has been put out with bog water a couple of hours ago. A lingering newly lit matches reveales some sulfur.
The old burned wood taste is dominating, a bit of cutlery and dried dark fruits, a bit sourness.
Little carbonation, small bubbles, soft and smooth, a medium body, a slow dry finish.
Well I had expected more, a bit thin. This was the 2011 vintage.

A: Pours dark brown with a rather large tan compact head that slowly dissipates into almost no lace.
S: The smell is kind of odd for a Rauchbier, but the malt isn't the usual smoked malt, Bamberg-style - this is whiskymalt from Islay (the smoke must come from peat) - odd, but not unpleasant. Sweetness and some bitter hops a bit American.
T: Like the smell, odd smoke in the sweet malt. The hops are a bit more up front. Some coffee and faint chocolate notes in the taste. Like some malt whisky from Islay; salty.
M: Long aftertaste, smoke and bitterness. Body is medium as well as the carbonation.
D: Not bad at all. Very interesting with the peated smokyness. But the smoke is a bit mild for the style, though.

The colour is deep brown with a tint of red (40 EBC), the liquid is clear. The three finger head is pale beige and very compact. It sinks very slowly leaving very little lacing.
The smell is Fresh and a bit hoppy with some bitterness and an elegant smoky flavour. It is more of smoked sausages than forest fire. Hints of sweet bread and Band-Aids.
The taste is first sweet with some smoked flavours. Clean bitter flavours add some balance after a short while. Some salt notes and hints of juniper twigs. Medium to low body. The aftertaste got a delicate smoky note, some woody hints, a mild creamy sweetness and some very gentle bitter flavours.
The carbonation is medium strong, the small bubbles fresh. The liquid is smooth.
An elegant and very balanced rauchbeer. Highly drinkable, perhaps a little too careful.
