Hazy yellow, tending to a light greenish. A veil of foam, not to beautiful.
Malt and some hop, not very fresh, in the smell.
Same notes for the taste, maybe a little better than the smell.
Normal, nothing really to say about it.
Average to light body, hop in the aftertaste, points of metallic.

Look: pours a clear golden-yellow color with a nice white head.
Smell: Sweet malts, grain some grass and old dog.
Taste: Sweet malts and grain. This beer has no hops at all, very flat taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation, thin body
Overall: This beer is very one dimensional, even for the style.

I have just spent the last few hours washing the car and mowing the lawns, it is sunny but cold (it is after all Shropshire in April).
I am therefore allowed to treat myself to a lunchtime beer. I have choosen this because I have a new (given to me) 'Paderborner' vase shaped 0.3 litre glass I want to christen. I have fond memories of Paderborner beers.
The brown 0.5 litre bottle was poured (twice) slowly into my newly given glass: A bright light straw yellow, golden beer stared at me, on top each time sat a huge foaming snow white head.
As so often happens with pilsner/lager based beers, I struggle to pick up any true smells or aromas, this had a hint of cerels, but no beery smells like hops or malt etc, etc.
If this the breweries special, their regular beer must be tasteless, because this doesn't set the world alight with flavour in any shape or form. It has the regular pilsner/lager freshness, lightness and dryness, but lacks any sort of punch or oomph.
The 5.6%ABV is just about detectable within the brew, but I found the whole expereince a bit disappointing, I had been looking forward to this beer. I traded this at the Pre-Zythos earlier in the year and had been saving it for a treat, big mistake!

A clear light golden color beer with a thin head.
Smell is malty with a little straw and biscuit. A light German hopiness which is a bit piney.
Taste is light malty with some hoppiness and some bitterness. These tastes are numb and not very outspoken. The mouthfeel is a little warm and the beer tastes like a heavy pilsner. This is not very special.

I bought this beer on my last trip to Germany in july this year. I pickepd up some bottles in the town of Heilbronn, the middle of Germany. This is a beer from the south of the country. Bottle best before october 26th 2012.
Poured in a half liter mug this beer does not look very spectacular. Golden fluid with a few bubbles as carbonation. Two fingers head which disappears in a minute leaving some lacing in the glass.
Now the smell and taste. Smell is ok but not breathtaking. It is as to be expected in this style. Taste is rather flat because of the lack of carbonation. Some sweetness with a bit dry aftertaste.

Had this at the Hirschgarten. Apparently this brew is growing in popularity these days.
Arrives a pretty standard golden color (about 2 shades darker than a helles), although it's a little "flatter" than most with only a smaller head. My mug was bone dry, and I noticed the other mugs around were the same. Okay...
Smells pretty malty. Not much hops in the smell. Nothing off, though.
The taste is good...but dare I say boring? The spezial and export offerings are relatively common and this one just wasn't doing it for me. The maltiness was there, but that was all. Hops probably would've served this well as they were key in the better examples. There's definitely some fruity pear flavor related to the malt, but the finish was clean.
It goes down easy enough, but again it was a little boring. To make sure I wasn't "missing" something, after glancing around, I saw other people nursing their masses of this for long periods of time, too. That's pretty much in stark contrast of the Augustiner and Andechs examples.
It's not bad and if you like the sweet straight ahead lagers (Lowenbrau for example) this might be the export for you. I ended up switching over to the Augustiner hell and never looked back.
EDIT: On my trip from 6/11 this was much bolder and it had a creamy, nearly Czech like flavor. I found it to be much better this time and I had it at the same exact locale.

A pale golden/yellow appearance, topped off by a small white head. Carbonation is modest.
A grainy, malty aroma, supported by a subtle accent on the hops, a light and sweet fruitiness and a small dose of alcohol.
A flavor that is sweet in a somewhat weak and almost sugary fashion. Alcohol is strikingly apparent for the style and abv. The beer finishes dry and hoppy and results in a long-lasting after-taste that is primarily sweet.
A mouthfeel that is again somewhat weak and dull, yet refreshing enough.
Not a grand beer to say the least, but enjoyable still.

Light gold in appearance, minimal head disspates to ring. Aroma of sweet malts; full for a helles bier.
Taste is full, as the aroma promises. And there's not a whole lot there besides the malts. A little bit of hops towards the finish. Aftertaste is okay. A bit metallic. Nevertheless, a good beer, and I respect the stronger alcohol content (as in I like is as much as I am wary of it). Numbing carbonation. All right overall. As others have mentioned, it's nothing "spezial."

500ml bottle served in a Weizen glass.
A: Pours a clear pale yellow color forming a big white and bubbled head. Medium to low retention but a thin layer is quite persistent in the surface and quite many lacings are formed and leftin the glass
S: Classic German Lager in the nose, very grainy with strong notes of sweet malts, bread and flowery hops. Lager yeasts
T: Follows the nose. Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of sweet grains and bready Lager yeast. In overall, a dry beer despite of the sweet grains upfront. End is made of mild and bit citrus hops bitterness. A bit ashy and metallic
M: Light body. Medium to high carbonation. Bready and grainy aftertaste
O: Good drinkability. Another smooth and easidrinking German Lager beer

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is a mix of grassy hops and grain. The flavor is grassy hops with low bitterness and some grain and bready malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not too much going on here.

I had a liter of this (on tap of course) at the Hirschgarten beer garden in Western Munich. The beer was a crystal clear yellow color with a massive head, the way all light colored beers appear in these huge 1L mugs. It had a neutral and malty aroma and flavor, honestly a little hard to tell a difference from the Helles beers which are served in the same manner all over the city. Kind of light mouthfeel and extremely drinkable, I enjoyed it in its correct setting. Probably not something I'd reach for at home though.

I must admit that I am totally addicted to the superb Augustiner Helles, it is by far my standard setter, so Tegernsee has big shoes to fill.
Pours out a light golden yellow color, nice head, a bit thin, but good looking nonetheless. High carbonation, active brew.
Smells a bit sweeter than other examples. light hay, fresh grass, bitter mineral, light peppery esters. a touch of candied sugar, malt and hallertau rounds out the aroma.
Flavor is sweet, but light and refreshing. malty, bread, honey, pepper, all mix with a decent amount of carbonation to keep it interesting. The light hoppy bit on the finish adds a nice lightness to the end taste, a bit of lemon is left tingling on the palate.
The sweetness becomes a bit dominant as I drink the beer, and lowers drinkability a touch or two. This is a decent brew, pretty hard to find unless you are in Munich, but I'll stick with the Augustiner or Andechs. Cheers

With a semi vigorous pour, this export makes a good two finger thick white crown. The lacing sticks around for the full half liter serving. The body is gold, and very clean and clear.
The aroma is very light, but subtle hints of lemony hops are notable, with a slight grainy huskiness.
The taste is full mouth as the Germans would say. Lots of lemony hops are easy to pick out, with a sweet cereal grain like finish.
In the mouthfeel, it starts off with a watery feeling, but finishes with a slight syrupy and possibly oily slickness.
This brew reminds me of Augustiner's Export offering (Edelstoff), and is a bit more complex than a typical export. It's all around a good set of suds.

BB 20-2-06. Good white head and a golden beercollor. Nose shows lots of fresh malts, litle green hoppy nose( H. Mittelfrueh like), litle vanilla but overal almost esterfree and very clean . Taste is malty, litle alcoholic and well bittered. Good carbonisation and clean taste makes mouthfeel almost as good as a Spezial/Export can be.Great session beer but also a pleasure to just enjoy one.

I brought this bottle back with me from Bavaria. Tegernsee is a beautiful brewery on a crystal clear lake. I don't know how long they have been brewing but its a long damn time. Like most Bavarian lagers this beer is perfectly balanced. I guess that comes from brewing for several hunderd years. Pours a clear yellow with a great big white head. wonderful aroma. very refreshing smooth taste. I wish someone in the US could brew a lager this good. Fantstic mouthfeel and super high drinkability make this a great drinking beer.
