750ml bottle poured in to a snifter.
Bottle #779/1344
A - jet black with a nice creamy mocha head that, when poured, sits at 1/4 inch but disappears after settling; lacing present
S - chocolate nibs; bourbon; roasted malts; a touch of caramel and a touch of coffee; some of that oak char
T - bourbon; caramel; dark chocolate; burnt coconut; a touch of vanilla; roasted chocolate malts; dark coffee
M - medium-to-full bodied; smooth; perfect carbonation
O - I realize the AC Golden tag may discourage snobs, but this beer is pretty f'n dank; I have no idea of the ABV and can't track it down, but if it's over 10 it's extremely well-disguised; this beer is smooth and tasty, and while not overly complex, hits all the right notes for an RIS; the limited numbers produced and the taste suggest I may need to buy another, quickly. I'll guess at a 9.5abv-ish...this beer passively but soon after consumption warms the body.

750 ml bottle, batch 1 bottle 1132/1344. Pours dark brown black with a small brown head that quickly goes to a thin collar that leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is rich bakers chocolate, grains, vanilla and some bourbon. More alcohol comes out as it warms.
The flavor is sweet rich chocolate and vanilla with a lot of pretty harsh bitter alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, good and flavorful especially for Coors but too sweet and alcoholic.

Thanks to mrbubbler/GRG1313 for sharing this one at Boneyard Bistro in Sherman Oaks, CA.
Batch 1. Bottle # 476/1344.
Pours an almost opaque super dark brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, cookie dough, and whiskey. Taste is much the same with a cocoa flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty and woody bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a nice barrel aged presence in the aromas and flavors.

750 ML
Batch 1 Bottle Number 780/ 1344
Thanks to SkeeterBoganski for the trade
A: Asphalt black with almost scarlet highlights. One finger of medium brown froth that bubbles like the bottom of a waterfall.
S: Strong licorice backed up by dark fruits - cherries, plum, raisins and smoke. The smell is intense.
T: Velvety smooth. Starts with licorice and dark fruits, ends with an extremely velvety milk chocolate. I definitely taste the coconut at the beginning too.
M: Velvety smooth. This is the smoothest, most velvety mouthfeel I have ever had in an RIS. It ends with the creamiest of milk chocolate/ whipped cream feel. Medium body, low carbonation.
O: Just some of the best mouthfeel I have ever had. Imagine a milk chocolate covered cherry, but the taste is in the reverse order - cherry licorice on the outside, milk chocolate on the inside.

Awkward shaped bottle went bang upon opening..
Two-finger milk chocolate colored soapy head. Brew is relatively thin and no lacing..
Liquid bourbon comes to mind. Vanilla, milk chocolate, oaky.
Whoa. Unique. Medium-thin viscosity, carbonation is light-medium, tons of bourbon vanilla, flavor is spot on, no heat and I can tell is this one strong brew...
Recommended, but @ $24??? ehh.. Maybe. Thanks Chris for the push across the finish line.

drastically overpriced for a moderately better than average stout. inky black on the pour, flatish looking, just a tan film is left on top. very bourbony nose, really intense alcohol and charcoal and vanilla notes, really charred and potent. caramel in the flavor, along with the bourbon right up front. there is, as the bottle advises, a touch of toasted coconut in the middle somewhere to pull the flavors together. burning tobacco vibe to the finish. what is the abv of this? god its potent. almost undrinkably alcoholic when it warms. mellow carbonation could use a boost i think, full body and filling, but still runny rather than syrupy, which makes this feel really strange in the mouth. im left breathing fire from the booze. look, im glad these guys exist, im glad they are moving beyond colorado native into more refined stuff, but you cant charge me 20something bucks for a beer that is so forgettable as this one is. maybe a few years in the cellar would dress it up a bit?

Bottle #1128/1344. Thanks to appetiteforparis for the share.
This pours out luscious and thick with a fudge-colored head that dissipates fairly quickly. The aroma is coffee, chocolate, Whiskey, brown sugar, molasses. Served cold the predominant flavor is coffee with some chocolate and then a big whiskey barrel finish. The personality of this beer emerges as it warms: the coffee is joined by flavors of vanilla, coconut (as the label promised), raisins, liquorice and the oakiness of the barrel. The mouthfeel is right on for the style; bracing yet completely drinkable. Overall an impossibly good beer from the people who brought you Coors Light.
