12 oz bottle pours a clear, reddish-copper color with an ample cap of beige head. Excellent retention and lace.

Nose is toasty, sweet malt and spruce tips. Inviting, crisp malts beckon.

Malts are a bit too toasty and astringent on the taste, leading to a bitter aftertaste that is unfortunately not from the hops. Mouthfeel is full and almost sweet, despite the toastiness. Not one of the better vienna lagers out there. Aroma and appearance were promising, but the taste really fell flat. Glad I only got a single.

A. Copper with a tinge of gold. Nice thick off-white head with good retention.

S. Caramel malt and honey, along with some buttery-biscuit-like aroma. Very nice.

T. A brief hop snap, followed by a smooth, somewhat sweet bread flavor and sightly
bitter, lingering after-taste. Delicious!

M. Medium body with light to moderate carbonation. A tiny bit oily, but quite nice.

O. Outstanding presentation, aroma and taste. Very well done lager and highly
recommended. A sort of cross between a Maerzen and an Amber Lager.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: pours a frothy 2" off white head that slowly falls with mild lacing. Color is a clear deep amber, lots of streaming carbonation.

Aroma: malt is dominate with the smell of fresh bread dough, also some toffee and spice notes (cinnamon?). Nice floral hop aroma as well.

Mouthfeel: light to medium bodied, quite sticky with a somewhat dry finish.

Flavor: cracker, whole grain bread, toffee, some spice notes. Floral and herbal hops in the finish.

Overall: extremely well done to the style.

It's beyond me that the folks who make all the great beers these guys do also make this swill. Do people really like this? It's just short of bad for me. Sweet and thick for a lager, even a maltier one, with a forces spice character and a brutal filling and flat mouthfeel. I could never drink a whole bottle of this, and it like the style. Seems cheap and rushed and lazy, why? I don't care if it's only in Colorado and native ingredients or whatever else they claim, it doesn't taste good. Redeemable only in a BMC context.

Thanks to Kim for the bottle. "Limited Edition" 68781/99840." 12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a nonical pint glass in me gaff in high altitude Castle Rock, Colorado. Reviewed live. Expectations are extremely low; I'm not a big Coors fan.

A: Pours a three finger light khaki head of some cream, decent thickness, and above average retention. The "two inch" head advertised by the label does indeed emerge. Body colour is a dull semitransparent non-opaque copper-amber. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.

Sm: Caramalt, toasted malts, and buried artificial fruit. An average strength aroma.

T: Heavy on the malt, with notable sweetness and only a bit of toasted character. A bit watery on the finish. Imbalanced and mediocre. Lacks complexity or subtlety. Not a flavorful beer.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Overcarbonated. Palate presence is decent. Too thick for the lack of flavour.

Dr: Drinkable but mediocre. I wouldn't have this again. Another poor offering from Coors, but that said it isn't as bad as I expected.

Bottle 56067 / 99840

Dark amber body, very clear, capped with a thick, creamy head. Emits a nice, soft malt scent. Taste also has a nice malt sweetness with a hint of spiciness and slight nuttiness. Very smooth, medium body with a clean finish.

A very good, easy drinking winter lager. Inviting appearance and smooth caramel sweetness combine to make for a refreshing holiday beer.

Bottle #51868 poured into a standard pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a coppery, amber color with one finger of head that dissipates relatively quickly.

Smell: Malty and sweet, with hints of grain. No hint of hoppiness.

Taste: Flavor is malty, but finishes with mellow grain tones. Not tasting any of the hops, although it leaves the slightest bitter aftertaste.

Mouthful: Smooth with a medium body and moderate carbonation. Surprisingly clean, dry finish.

Overall: Wish it had a bit more alcohol, but an interesting winter beer all the same. Wouldn't go out of my way to have it again, but I am glad I gave it a shot.

Poured from generic bottle to pilsner glass. The beer pours an average copper color, clear, 1 finger white head with average retention and little lacing. The aroma is strong in pine aromas, earthy hops are prevalent as is a light caramel. Way too much pine. The taste follows right behind with a dominant pine flavor to which the caramel and mild hop flavor play second fiddle. Tastes like a pine cone, really. Very high carbonation and dry. Doesn't seem to be balanced whatsoever. Overall, I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised like I was with Native, but this wasn't worth it.
