You know, I can't help but say that this smells like hairspray. I don't know what that means. Maybe I took a sniff of things too quick when I opened the can. Anyways. This is a pretty hoppy brew with strong citrus tones and a salty edge as well. Smooth feel. A nice IPA. A bit too bright for me, but glad to have tried it.

A: The beer is hazy golden yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high off white head that died down and left a thin head covering the surface and the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of passionfruit, citrusy and spicy hops are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste of this beer is dominated by the hops and has initial flavors of citrus and passionfruit followed by spicy hops towards the finish. A light to moderate amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels medium-bodied and rather crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is packed with interesting aromas and flavors from the hops but is easy to drink and doesn't have an overpowering amount of bitterness. It is quite enjoyable.

Pours a hazy honey color, toasted grain. The white head is small but creamy, leaves some nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma is hoppy; the profile consists of an earthy, savory hop from the simcoe and a piney, grapefruit and tropical fruit from the columbus hops. The malt has a honey type of sweetness.

The hops have an oniony flavor but also has strong grapefruit and pineapples notes. There is some orange the peeks through as well. The malt is bready with some honey sweetness. Nice balance in flavor.

Moderate feel with fizzy carbonation. Sweet on the palate with enough bitterness from the hops to offset. For such a hoppy flavor it is not very bitter on the palate. Quite smooth.

A very well made IPA. The hop profile is not my favorite but the balance for this IPA is fantastic.

Appearance: Deep orange

Smell: Citrus aromas burst forth the moment you open the can.

Taste: A delicious citrus hop-bomb of an IPA. All of the grapefruit flavors that one expects from a top-shelf west coast IPA are here. Finish is mostly dry with a touch of sweetness at the end.

Mouthfeel: Medium, medium-carbonation.

Overall: Tremendous job by Snake River, and a most welcome addition to the NY beer scene. I would rank this among my top 25 single IPAs in the country.

A: Pours a hazy deep golden yellow in color with some significant amounts of orange highlights and light to moderate amounts of gentle carbonation near the surface. The beer has a two finger tall creamy light beige head that slowly reduces to a thick film covering about half the surface of the beer with the other half covered by a thick patch and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus hops - lemon, grapefruit, and orange - with just a touch of tropical/pineapple and pine hops. There is a light amount of sweetness and just a touch of caramel malts.

T: Upfront there is a light to moderate amount of caramel malt sweetness which quickly moves into the dominant hop flavors - there is a slightly sweet pine hop and tropical/pineapple hop flavors initially but then the citrus hops come in very strongly. The citrus hops are primarily orange with a touch of grapefruit to balance it out. Light amounts of lingering sweetness and just a touch of bitterness which fades quickly.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly sticky with a light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: Very enjoyable with great citrus hop aromas and flavors but slightly on the sweet side for an IPA - which I enjoyed and I think makes this one pretty easy to drink. The hops and bitterness are not overly aggressive so this beer does not destroy your palate like some of the others in the style can from time to time. Overall pretty well balanced.

12oz can

A - Pours a golden lightly hazy color. Strong pearly white head formation. Little lacing.

S - Super citrus hoppy scent. Backed up with decent amounts of resin and pine. Very strong.

T - Starts off strong, citrus and a little bit of sweetness. Hopping dominates the whole way, gets a little more dry and balanced through the mid-stream. Finishes off with mor\
e citrus. Most of the bitterness is in the finish.

M - Moderate and creamy body. Carbonation is noticable, but very well balanced.

O/D - If you like a citrus hop IPA, this is your bag. Its very smooth and easy drinking all around. Not much of a palette wrecker. Not overly filling. Worth a try.
