I'm not sure what this style is supposed to be, but this is pretty interesting compared to others I've had. This beverage is pretty cloudy with not much head or lacing. It has a simple, clean aroma and a similar taste. It is nice and creamy, which as I recall, some others weren't, dispite the name of the style. The aftertaste is a nice bitter hoppy flavor.

This was a complete surprise since the bottle gives no clue what's inside. As such, I didn't expect much and I got a little more than I expected. I won't go out of my way for another, but it is a well made brew.

Poured from a bottle into a stemless wine glass

A- pours a cloudy shade of yellow with a one finger white head that fades very quickly. The head was a great color, but didn't stick around at all. The beer looks like lemonade. Yikes.

S- slight corny aroma, though it's not very pleasant...true to style, I guess

T- starts a little cloyingly sweet, finish is actually a tad bitter. Tastes a lot like macro swill, to be honest

M- very thin body, moreso than most typical examples of the style

O- just a disastrous cream ale. When done properly, it's a lovely style, but this is just...no

12 oz. bottle. No bottled on date present. Uncapped and poured to a Boulevard tulip. This will be my first beer resembling the cream ale style, so I'm not too sure what to expect.

A - Pours an extremely cloudy lemon color. Looks like a more full-bodied version of a Miller Lite or some other such swill. Virtually no head on top, with a couple of bubbles stuck to the sides of the glass.

S - Again, on the track to resembling such swill as a Miller Lite or a Miller Genuine Draft. Smells of carbonated chemically treated corn husk with perhaps some vague hint of unrecognizable spice buried in the end. Some very vague citrus note is present in there, also. The "cream" flavor really only begins to present itself by the time the beer has warmed up significantly, and you are practically finished with it.

T - Resembles the smell almost to a tee. Not nearly as carbonated or bloating as I would have expected, judging by the quality of the smell. Definitely tastes very corny and mealy. Dry finish. Not a whole lot of flavor to be had out of this one, though. Cream ale? Doesn't taste at all how the style makes you think it would taste like. Very faint hint of citrus at the end, and a faint cream taste near the end as the beer warms up.

M - Mouth feel is good. Nice medium body, and nicely balanced. Again, very dry in the finish. No real flavor was there in the first place, so nothing really lingers about.

Overall, this brew tastes more like a well-made lager than it does a "cream ale" although this was the first one I've had. Nothing special, more like a quality Miller Lite or Bud Light than it is an actual "craft" beer. Still a step above mass produced swill, but not great by any means, but I would drink it again if I had the chance.

A: Cloudy yellow, no head and tiny lace.
S: Not much. Just like the Blonde. Cooked grain, slight sweet.
M: Not as much bitter as the Blonde. More of a grain taste. Other than the sweet honey note of the Blonde, this seems the same.
T: See above. Is this the same beer? Bit more alcohol in the profile and maybe a bit more of the grain/corn. A touch of butterscotch.

O: Vaguely a cream ale. Not bad, but for the style, a bit of a miss.

Served in a (512) anniversary glass.

Didn't even know Horny Goat was available down here, so I picked up what singles I could to give them a try, beginning with this one. It pours a clear pale straw topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises wheat, mild corn, and sweet flowers. The taste brings in more of the same, progressing flavor-wise from sweet, almost cream-like notes to decidedly wheaty and grainy notes to a sort of off-fruit-y territory that mars an awful lot of decent progress up to that point. The body is a very light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a generally fluid feel. Overall, an okay cream ale at best, one that hints at some form of tastiness before wrenching it away from me.

Stopped at the grocery store to grab a six pack for the night. Had a friend suggest Horny Goat Exposed because it has good flavor/ balance while also being a lighter session style beer.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy golden yellow with 1/2 inch of head. I little lacing around the empty glass.

Smell: Earthy smell with a little bit of malt and vanilla.

Taste: A lighter cream ale with a hint of citrus and a very small bit of bitterness. I really like this beer. A great combination of flavors while also being light enough to have a few in a sitting. I think this may have just become one of my favorites. Also, a great introductory beer to someone new to craft beers. I used to drink nothing but light beers but recently became a craft head. I truly believe in the saying "once you go craft you never go back."

Mouthfeel: On the lower end of medium body. Very smooth and easy to drink with a slight creamy feel.

Overall: I really like this beer. It's a great beer to enjoy and sit back for more than one. The taste does not get old or overwhelming. If you enjoy cream ales such as Spotted Cow you should give this beer a try. Also, if you have friends you are trying to convert to the craft side this would make a great transitional beer.
