While we stayed at the beach we stopped by what used to be one of our fave seafood restaurants, now turned to Greek pizzaria and beer bar. Not too disappointed I might say. Sure I didn't get my fix of The Village Inn's seafood chowder, but oh well, I probably make it better anyway ;-)
What we did get was an outstanding tap and bottle list! I don't even know how many taps they had. In all, I think they have like 120 beers on their menu.
We started with some Alagash Black and just kept moving on through the local stuff, some good, some not so good. In fact one beer we had was a touch diacetyl and we had to send it back, the manager agreed with us and took it offline. I actually had alot of beer in Maine that had heavy diacetyl issues. Not really sure what is up with all of that, it wasn't just Shipyard either, I had a Gritty's and a Geary's that also had strong diacetyl flavors. I don't know if they are supposed to taste that way or not, but it's not a flavor that agrees with me.
The bottle menu was as impressive as the tap menu. Just check out the website and see for yourself.
Food looked good, but we weren't overly hungry, so opted for some wings. Had the buffalo maple! Fantastic. And a good recommendation from the bar keep.
This is truly a nice find. I'm okay that the Village Inn is gone as long as this is in it's place ;-)

My wife and I took some friends to Old Orchard Beach and decided to stop by Jimmy the Greek's for some food and suds.
A/Q: Though we sat at a booth, I did take a look at the bar and found that it was packed more than the restaurant, (hmm, I wonder what that was telling me). With the beer towers and the large amount of beers on tap and bottle (I think close to 100), I'd say the place was more of a bar than a restaurant, so the atmosphere for a bar was good in my book, which in turn tells me the quality is up there as far as beer is concerned.
S: Here's the hard part for me in this review, because I already talked about how the bar was packed, but the restaurant wasn't and with the oldest rivalry in the NFL playing on the tv in the background, right now I'm thinking where is everybody? So if there is barely anyone in the restaurant, why did it take our waitress a 45 minutes to get us our appetizer and then get our food an hour after that? So the service wasn't that good. Since I already talked about the bar menu no need to go into that again.
S/F/V: The food selection was very good, as to having a lot of Greek and Italian meals, plus steaks, seafood, and a hard to pick from list of appetizers. Once we got our food, it was great as I was trying to plan on taking half my meal home but that didn't happen as I gobbled it up. So here's the kicker: just in case anyone from Jimmy the Greek's happens to read this, if someone gets a Newcastle Werewolf as to a Miller lite, do you think that person is going to want to pound it and keep buying beer to get wasted? Sorry, Jimmy's, lack of people in your restaurant told me everything. I'll go to the one in South Portland if I want to go back.

Stopped in here on a Saturday night in February. Even though Old Orchard Beach basically shuts down for the winter, this place was packed. The dining room is very large, with a long copper topped bar, picnic tables and booths, TVs all over the place. Very noisy on a Saturday night. Minimalist decor, mostly plates on the wall that you get to decorate when you've had 100 beers.
About 50 beers on tap, mostly New England microbrews, and 75 to 100 bottled beers. A good variety in the bottles. Since it was February I had a Gritty's Scottish Ale and a Geary's Wee Heavy.
My wife and I had pizzas. The menu had salads, pizzas, calzones, a few entrees. We figured, in a Greek restaurant, go for the pizza. My wife had a garlic mashed potato pizza with cheddar cheese and bacon on top. It might not sound too good, but it tasted great. At the recommendastion of our server I had Yia-Yia's pizza, which was sausage, Kalamata olives, spinach, and feta. Great.
Service was efficient.
We had a good time, and will go back.

Dropped by here on Saturday afternoon for lunch on the way to The Pier for the 11th annual Beerfest. Not much to talk about in terms of the Beerfest, but Jimmy The Greeks was a great place and worthy of a positive review.
This is a good sized place with ample seating including a lengthy bar, picnic tables and private booths. There is also a wooden patio too. The bar itself showcases a ton of taps with about 50 or so drafts. I had an Allagash Double and an Allagash Black. Both beers were fresh, served at the perfect temperature and in sweet Allagash tulip glasses. There is not shortage on beer options here, you will certainly find something with the 50 drafts and about another 100 bottles.
Food was really good too. Started off with an appetizer and order the lobster roll, which was the special. The roll was served with these amazing potato chips. They have soups, salads, burgers, pizzas, paninis and several entrees.
Service was friendly, efficient and response. This is place is worth checking out if in the area to satisfy your craft beer and pub food wants.

Great place for get togethers and meeting new friends. The food is very good and the beer selections is great. Great theme nights and music 3 or 4 days a week...Music on the deck Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sundays for the summer and Friday and Saturdays in the winter. Pizza is cooked in brick oven and specialty pizza are very good such as Garlic mashed potato pizza (Sounds bad but it;'s great) Monday trivia night is starting to pick up. Tuesday is ladies night. Wednesday is Brewers night with a different brewer each week. Thursday is Irish night with Live Music.
