Now that they changed the name and improved their selection I would say this is hands down the best place to go in town. In fact, this place can easily rival Papago Brewing up in Scottsdale except for the bottle selection.
Nothing fancy in the way of decor. The place is split into two rooms sort of, and they are needing the space as it is getting busier everytime I go. It's a great atmosphere for beer, no blaring music, only 1 television. The focus here is a casual place for good beer. I've had pretty good service for the most part. Sometimes when they are busy it gets a bit slower, but overall no complaints.
Back to the selection. The draft beers available are top notch. Lots of west coast (Stone, Alesmith, Bear Republic), plus a few locals, Belgians, etc. Plenty of styles to choose from, I believe its over 40 taps now. Alot of what they have you won't see anywhere else on draft in Tucson. As for the food, they keep it simple: massive slices of Pizza with whatever toppings you like. One is always enough to fill you up. There's also wings and a few other choices too. The prices are very reasonable for everything.
Overall my favorite beer joint in Tucson. If you are visiting it is a must...

1702 is located in a little shopping complex of about five stores. 1702 is the last store on the west end of the complex, on the South side of Speedway just west of Dirtbags bar. Parking is limited you can only park on the East side of the shopping complex but don't let that discourage you.
When you first walk in just look strait ahead and you will see about fifty taps of world famous beers that are constantly rotated. The restaurant has to rooms for dinning both rooms have chalk boards with the beers that are on tap so just look up and if you can not decide just ask one of the knowable wait staff for a recommendation.
While we were there we drank pints of Stone Ruination IPA, Racer 5 IPA, Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale. Due to there higher ABV Dogfish Head 90 IPA and Avery Collaboration not Litigation Belgian Strong Ale was served in 10oz glasses. There are so many Big Beers at the establishment it is unreal, most pints are in the $4 to $5 range but some are higher.
I hate to even put the food as a side note because the Pizza was excellent, you can order it by the slice I ordered the large slice Roman style it cost $7.50 when they brought it out the slice was the size of my head and packed with delicious toppings. I can't wait to go and sample more of what 1702 has to offer I highly recommend a stop at this fine establishment.
