The main reason to come here would be the food. They have some awsome German food with nice variety of entrees. I was here for a retirement party and everyone was pleased with their meal. There is a decent selection of beer so you should be able to find something drinkable between what's on tap and what's available in bottles. I had some Young's Double Chocolate Stout which was pretty cool. Atmosphere was what I imagine a German Pub would be like. Seems like a fun place. Staff was friendly and helpful. I will visit again soon.

Geisen Haus is a Canton staple and has been around for many years. I went there a few months back because they had Blackout Stout on draft (this was September so having Blackout around that late in the year is worth rushing out of the house for) but alas the day after when I got there they had just blown the stout and hook up the Great Lakes Oktoberfest. I had a pitcher with some friends and enjoyed the atmosphere. It is a very nice place with a pretty good beer list, focusing on imports and you guessed it german/belgian style beers! I would definitely come back as it is a nice place to enjoy a beer, but for me as I prefer more Domestic Crafts as opposed to the imports, this isn't my first choice to stop and have a pint.

The Geisen Haus is a fine place, featuring a great atmosphere and a fairly impressive collection of beers from all over. The staff is very friendly and the prices are extremely reasonable. As far as the food, I must say, I am a little biased. They boast "authentic German cuisine", which the dishes are. However, for someone who lives in Germany, it is, to me, like going to McDonald's for a classic American hamburger or Long John Silvers for fantastic seafood. It leaves something to be desired. But, the beer, that is another matter! Prost!

While staying nearby for a wedding, I found Geisen Haus on Beer Advocate and was surprised to see its sign just off I-77 while taking a wrong turn. I didn't expect to find it so easily or serendipitously.
My subsequent visit for lunch that day netted me two pints of Great Lakes (as a transplanted Clevelander, I take every opportunity to get GL), and a really good sandwich. The interior is casual and well-worn. Some of the neon signs should probably be taken down in favor of letting some of the woodwork and old painted signs show through. Service was really good and the couple people at the bar were friendly and interesting.
My one complaint was the taps which featured Coors and PBR, which I felt could have been better served with something else. They had a solid bottle selection to make up for it, however, and in taking two other wedding guests there for lunch the next day, we all enjoyed some pints of Paulaner, dark lagers, and some more good food.
This bar is relatively dark and windowless, so you could easily have an afternoon where you forget how long you were in there. It made my weekend in the greater Canton area enjoyable, and I look forward to stopping by some time down the road.

This is one of the two places I always try to get to when I'm visiting back home (good old Massillon, OH). My family and friends and I have recently completed the "World of Beers" tour for the third time earning us first a shirt, then a mug, and ultimately our name on the plaque when you walk in. Peanut shells are tossed casually on the floor, the decor is a lot of wood and an old-time, smokey-bar feel, which to me are all good things! Service is always great considering they're usually pretty busy on the weekend nights and I've never been dissapointed by the food, whether its some wings, sausages, a sandwich or just the peanuts and popcorn to accompany the beers. They usually have about 40 different bottled beers and another dozen or so on draught, though most repeat what is offered in a bottle. They have a pool table and plenty of TVs to catch the game. It's a great tavern that seems to be in a place it doesn't belong sitting just off of the freeway and not far from a Strip Mall, but I'm just glad it's there at all!

A nice rathskeller style bar with a very friendly atmosphere and decent offerings. The location is very near I77 on a major route. Plenty of parking and space for elbow room. Food is also a feature, but I cannot remark other my friend's comments that it is quite good. People really go there for the beer and the atmosphere supports that. It has a private mug club that seems to be a major attraction.

Geisen Haus is German restaurant/bar tucked away off I-77 in North Canton. The parking lot is fairly small but it is only a problem on weekend nights.
Geisen Haus has a nice authentic German look and feel, and the floor is consistently covered with peanut shells. They have a glass case full of different beer bottles right near the entrance, and the interior is dark with a lot of wood. The bar is along the rear wall.
The bar also has a nice little beer club that offers rewards such as a stein as you try more and more of their beers. There are some really unique beers to try to earn the prizes. Unfortunately you have to drink a Corona at some point. They are also one of the last places where you could find Blimp City Black Ale, which was their house draught.
Service has been consistently good any time I have visited.
The food is a nice mix of bar food and traditional German fare. Geisen Haus is known for its sausage, so make sure to try it if you are eating. There is also plenty of popcorn to eat.
