A - The bartender didn't cheat me at all on the pour, though it did not leave as much head as it otherwise would have. Went into a hybrid wine glass/goblet an attractive chestnut brown.
S - Not much in the aroma, some roasted scents, a bit of raisin.
T - Much more to taste here than smell. Big chocolate-covered raisins, vinous notes. Listed at 9%, which would make for copious alcohol for a dubbel, but not much ethanol at all noted in the taste. It was a beery chocolate bar loaded with raisins.
F - Medium body. Just a little sticky. Not quite as highly carbonated as Trappist examples of this style.
D - You'd like to get some more aromatics out of this, but I'd order it again; it sure is tasty.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery, with the owner and with Josh Oakes and rating girlfriend. A mild aroma. Chocolate dark, nice lacing. A bit sour which detracted. Above-average mouthfeel rom the yeast. Hard to believe its contracted out to Florida Brewing. A sipper.

On-tap at the Abbey on a quiet, very quiet, Friday afternoon. Appeared a dark amber with a medium tan head. the 9% ABV is a bit much for a dubbel, but this beer is delicious. There's a smokey note in the aroma and flavor that gives this beer an interesting twist. Otherwise there's a sweet, yet balanced raisin and mixed berry flavor that finishes with a dry, mild hoppy taste. Definitely try this beer if you stop in.
