I've been to this place twice now, both while passing through Bakersfield. Really one of the nicer Liquor stores i've been into in terms of cleanliness and setup. The deli looks great, but I haven't gotten anything there.
The selection here is solid, its not over the top but it has enough of a selection to keep a beer geek interested, and I'm pretty sure it's a heaven here in beer deprived Bakersfield. There are 2 big factors that will keep me stopping at this store every time i find myself in the area. The first is that they seem have high profile special releases that have long since sold out in the LA area. The second is that they let you break up six packs, and I will make it a point to frequent stores that allow me to do this.
This store is the only reason to get excited about getting off the freeway in Bakersfield.

Got a good tip about this place so I had to stop in while I was in California earlier this month. Easy to find, just off of 178 on Columbus in a little strip mall. The quality was good, as others have mentioned they had about 6or7 doors in the cooler dedicated to craft beer and imports. The service was pretty shitty in my opinion. I called ahead of time to see if they had a certain vintage of a beer I was told they had and whoever I talked to on the phone told me they had some and I get there and they had the beer just not the correct vintage of it. I picked up a few 2008 Abyss they had and a couple Black Butte XX so I cant complain too much. There is a Deli in the store also that looked pretty good, I would have gotten something if I hadn't just got done eating.

Country Club Liquors is located in a strip mall parking lot on Columbus Street not too far from 178. There is plenty of parking all around the building.
The interior is a hybrid convenience store and deli. The beer is located mostly in coolers along the back wall, plus some on shelves at room temperature. They have a small collection of glassware near the register as well.
Country Club has a pretty good selection of California beers, a lot of them in bombers. Brewers like Mammoth, Stone, Lengthwise, Firestone and others are represented. Some imports are available as well.
Service here was more on the convenience store side. The attendant was friendly but didn't really ask how we were doing or if he could help with anything.
This place is not listed as a restaurant but some of the deli items looked pretty good.
Overall this is probably the best place I have seen in Bakersfield for craft beer. While not a huge selection there is bound to be something to interest a beer lover.

Absolutely the best beer store in Bakersfield.
They carry a large selection of fine Cali craft brews, and some harder to find ones too. There are about 7-8 doors worth of beer, both domestic craft and European (Belgian and German). The staff is so so and only 1 or 2 guys know whats up and the others try but dont know. The store is part of an European deli who packs a great lunch, and they also have a great wine and cheese selection.
I am glad I found this gem and its already become my go to store in Bakerfield.
