12oz brown bottle with no freshness date.
A- Wow, great frothing head from a hard pouring ... no gushing, just good froth. Great head retention as well, crystal clear brassy hue.
S- Spicy veggie-like hop in the nose, clean and aromatic. Bit of bread malt in the aroma to.
T- Lots of toasted biscuity malt flavor. Earthened Fuggles hop reigns over the palate with a layer of bitterness and waves of flavor.
M- Mild carbonation with a creamy mouth feel in a medium body.
D- Yum-delish, easily a session brew for me.
I am super partial to Fuggles hops, lots of flavor all around ... lots of flavor melding together in a blurred harmony.

This English style IPA makes me feel like getting my armor on, and heading out to find a dragon to slay. Great taste, with the bitterness moderated by a vague citrusy sweetness. The color is coppery, with a nice head and lacy trails. Definitely btings out the Knight in me!

A - Hazy yellow-orange with 1 finger.
S - Lots of orange and lemony smells. Not overly citrusy, though.
T - Nice medium hop taste. Well balanced.
M - Light to medium bodied.
O - Pretty good, light-tasting beer, well balanced. Although not my favorite style, this is enjoyable. Easy drinking.

Pours from the 12 oz bottle an impressive copper color with a foamy 2 finger head. There seems to be almost no carbonation going on inside the glass, I had to look really hard to find a small handful of tiny bubbles. Aroma is surprisingly faint with almost no hop presence...I get mostly the aroma of toasted malt. 1st sip brings a sharp note of spicy, piney hops, but it's not the overwhelming in-your-face hoppiness that comes with most American IPAs. Mouthfeel is right down the middle, neither watery of heavy. Overall, this is a decent, very drinkable IPA, a refreshing change from all the overdone hop bombs out there.

12 ounce bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a copper/orange color with a couple inch off-white head that sticked around for a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is herbal and citrusy (orange, lemon peel) hops, and some bready malt. The brew tastes like herbal and citrusy (grapefruit, oranges) hops, and some bready and caramel malt. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit creamy but also has a little too much carbonation for me. I still think it's a decent enough brew overall, it's certainly worth trying. I'd like to have this one again in the future.

From notes on 03/21/12:
Bottle code: 0042 B2 0343; Poured in a pint glass.
A - Just over an inch of off-white fluffy head with good retention; Clear appearance with a deep copper color; Some scattered lacing left behind
S - Nice balance of earthy, herbal, and floral hops with toasty, sweet caramel, toffee, and biscuity malts
T - Very toasty flavor up front accompanied by sweet caramel and biscuity malts, with good balance provided by leafy/earthy, herbal, and lightly spicy hops; Very light bitterness presence; Leafy hops begin to stand out more towards the end of the taste with just a bit of lingering sweetness and bitterness
M - Good amount of carbonation; Medium bodied; Fairly dry finish leaving a light oily, hoppy coat on the tongue
O - I'm not one to try too many English IPA's, but this one is a quality offering for the style and has me thinking I should try a few more. I really enjoyed the taste of 100% UK Fuggles, which didn't steal the show, but had enough of a presence to work well with the light bitterness and overall toasty, malty flavor. I wouldn't mind trying this brew again when I'm in the mood for another English IPA.

12 ounce bottle from a BIF poured into a pint glass.
Pours a cloudy orange color with a 2 finger pillowy head. Smells is great with lots of fruity, hops and grains. Taste is spot on. Not overpowering but delicious. Plenty of oranges, hops, and pines. Not too bitter. Very sessionable. Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Overall this is great, wish it was available to me.

A: Pours medium orangey-copper, with just a hint of haze. A fat finger of head lingers nicely, leaving a delicate lace well up the walls of the glass.
S: Not too complex. Slight malt, but mostly citrus, and with a medium hops aroma on repeat whiffs.
T: Sweet for a split second, and a quick burst of fresh citrus, followed by what seems like biting a grapefruit rind -- tart, bitter, and not very pleasant.
M: Moist, with fair crispness and decent carbonation.
O: Although the label says "English IPA" it lacks the balance and subdued notes I have come to expect from the English variety. This is an American IPA in character, and not a great one at that.
