Poured chilled into a pint glass, it pours the color of almonds (skin on) with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a slight edge layer.

Aroma leaves alcohol lingering. A bit of roasted malts with a cascade hop smell that leaves a bitterness about it. A bit of roasted peanuts aroma and oak also come through on the nose (maybe the alcohol phenol smell actually).

Light flavored really. A bit of toasted malts hit my tongue right away along with some bittering, floral hops, and the carbonation really tingles my tongue a bit too much to get more flavor. However, the finish reveals a nice oak and roasted peanut flavor that reminds me of being at a baseball game.

Body is relatively light with a bit too much carbonation for my liking. Tingly and a bit watery though.

Fairly drinkable brew. Easy to drink, but just not sure how much you'd truly want to drink if you can have something else in the same style. It's NOOO Troeg's Nut Brown, that's for sure.

Been wanting to try this ever since I caught a smell of a remaining drop in a family growler.

A - Very interesting, pours to a dark golden color, not the brown I was suspecting. Barely any head, just a faint white ring

S - Hard to place, lots of nuts and caramel, but also faint fruits

T - Even more interesting, the nuts and slight caramel are there, hops are oddly in the front and very faint, has that roasted malt to it but also more of an IPA style as a whole.

M - Fairly syrupy, a little carbonation but not a whole lot

O - Overall its a fairly complex beer, not quite what I was expecting from a brown ale. It's also pretty light. Nothing too crazy but something I would definitely have again.

12 ounce bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a mostly clear amber/brown color with a half inch off-white head that went away quickly. There's a small amount of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is bready malt, toffee, nuts and some herbal hops. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's the addition of some honey. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I think this is a solid brew, it's worth trying.

From notes on 02/28/12:
No freshness date; Poured in a pint glass.

A - Half inch off-white creamy head that disappears fairly quickly; Mostly clear appearance with visible carbonation; Brown tinted amber in color; Minimal lacing left behind

S - Notes of earthy, woody, nutty, toasty, biscuity, herbal/spicy hops, and faint smokey characteristics as well

T - Pleasant toasty, nutty, biscuity, and earthy flavors present that's also accompanied by just a bit of chocolatey and buttery qualities; Some herbal/spicy hops are present, but they're not as pronounced as the nose; Just a small amount of bitterness for the first half of the taste; Pleasant flavors of nuts and buttered toast linger

M - Good bit of carbonation; Medium bodied; Fairly drying and a bit syrupy in the finish

O - St. George has done a pretty good job with this offering. The taste is the strongest point of the beer with a nice depth of pleasant flavors that don't lose your interest. In addition, there's a nice level of drinkability with this brew, making it one that I'll certainly visit again.

A: Nice amber color, with a fast-fading head and minimal lacing.

S: Really nice! Floral notes hit strong with the first whiff, then bready malts, and finally faint, citrussy hops.

T: Not complex, but nicely balanced with slightly-sweet, bready flavors, and a full (but not overpowering) hops finish.

M: Decent crispness. Like most from St. George, it could use a boost in the carbonation (which would help the development of a nice head, too).

O: An enjoyable English ale, although pretty straightforward. It paired nicely with fried flounder, but would have been fine on its own.

Poured chilled in large (22-oz.) glass stein

A: carbonation was overpowering, flowing over the sides (but I'm not complaining); cloudy dark yellow; huge head; nice lacing
S: decent, malty smell; pretty light
T: butter, malt, pumpkin, caramel; low hops; medium complexity; bitter aftertaste

Watch for volcano works!

Pours a crystal clear coppery amber, little splashes of creamy white head. Scent mild with very light touches of roasted nuts', caramel and earthy hops. Taste and mouthfeel are light, thin and somewhat water - light caramel, nuts and earthy hops, some damp grain comes through in the end. More then moderate amounts of carbonation. Light and clean, not what is really desired from style.

Super clear amber color. Little head. Weak grainy nose. Weak grainy taste with just a touch of nuttiness. Light and underbodied. Good moderate carbonation. Drinks like water.

The beer pours a watered down, very clear brown. It looks a lot like the color of iced tea. There is a one-finger head that dies too fast and leaves no lace.

The aroma has some nutty malt and a hint of earthy hops.

A little light on the mouthfeel. It's on the light side of medium. A bit watered down but there is some good nutty flavor, mildly sweet toffy and a good earthy hop balance. A beer I wouldn't turn down but also wouldn't seek out.

Pours a light brown into a pint glass.

A- Slight presence of malt, slight presence of hops, but not a whole lot of aroma either way.

T- mild hops, barely discernible malts.

M- Very light on the palate, medium carbonation and not much viscosity.

O- I prefer the regular brown ale, although in terms of drinkability, this beer is so light that it could be drank during any season. No one of St. George's standouts, but certainly not a disappointment.

Purchased in a Dragon Pack from World Market in Charlottesville, VA - tulip - no freshness

Pours a really watery amber color with little head which is soapy and diminishing fast. Smells okay, kinda nutty and roasty. Tastes okay, malty and sweet. Feels kind of thing but not bad.

Over all this beer is forgettable and not at all brown.
