330mL bottle poured into a pint glass.
A - Straw-gold with vigorous carbonation and one inch of pillowy white head.
S - Bready with a hint of lemon and grassy/spicy noble hop aroma.
T - Tastes somewhat watered-down, but still has a nice breadiness along with spicy, grassy, floral hop flavor and a bracing hop bitterness. Finishes dry.
M - Light body, spritzy, but a bit thin.
D - Very thirst-quenching and a nice German pils. I'd drink another one for sure.

After months of nothing but Belgian Dubbles & Triples it was time to go back to something with a bite. My go to Czech Pilsner is Krusovice and my German mainstays are Bitbuger and Paulaner Pils.
While being in a rut of awsome beer is not much much of a rut, I forced myself to find something new (to me).
Würzburger Hofbräu was mentioned in something I was reading, so off the the beer store I go.
Color is light golden with a slight haze.
The initial sensation is light and subtel, then flavor quickly builds in your mouth.
Like the front the finish is light, which means I am ready for another sip.
Fantastic drinkable pilsner that is super clean with a light bite
Perfect on it's own or serve with a savory meal

330ml bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a hazed, straw-hued body with a frothy, but soon receding, white head.
Smell: Doughy, grainy scent of pils malt, a little yeast, and some noted grassy tones. It's a pils!
Taste: As with the nose, pilsner malt with touches of fresh dough, cracked grains, and a little basic sweetness. Thin vein of lemon with some herbaceously grassy hops. Amply bitter. Dry, crispish finish yielding both refreshment and a quenched thirst.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation, nearingly crisp.
Overall: A sure-footed, solid pils.

Sourced at local draft haus where freshness is assured. Saw this one buried under a mountain of hoppy high abv IPAs down at the bottom of the board/offerings. I am a big fan of lagers and pilsners and had not tried this one. Pours a cloudy golden color with large white pillowy head that slowly falls. Smells of light roasted barley, some floral and yeast scent and hops. Taste is classic pilsner with aggressive bitter follow through. Leaves very nice lacing on glass. A most excellent example of the style.

Pours a light yellow. Pillowy white head with big popping bubbles on the outside. Dissipates very slowly. No lacing
Aroma is sweet and grainy. A bit of light toast and hay. No discernible hop presence.
Taste starts out light and watery. A toasted grain flavor with some grass hops. Floral hops with a bit of white bread flavor as well. Finish is curt and sweet with a taste like buttered crackers.
Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated. Light body. Smooth with a crisp finish.
A very nice pilsner that outshines all the American ones I've had. While the style is still basic pils, it's tasty, easy to drink and doesn't have the woody grossness or watery body of American pilsners. The lower carbonation makes it a breeze to drink and allows the quality to shine through.
