I visited here twice on a recent trip, and I have to say that it has a fantastic selection for the area, and even for a lot of other places I've been.
A pretty broad range of US micros, a few just to give an idea: Hoppin' Frog; Ommegang (even had Bier de Mars and Ommegeddon); Souther Tier; New Belgium; New Holland; Victory; Stone; Bell's; Duck Rabbit; Terrapin; and Highland.
I actually scored a BA BORIS at this place (should note that was the only rarer brew there), which was awesome. Everything seemed to be fresh, and though I was offered help, I didn't take up the gentleman minding the beer shelves.
There were also a number of European brews from England, Germany, and Belgium. However, there weren't many that one couldn't find in a lot of other places.
Overall, this is a must stop if you are in the area. Great place.

I made my second trip to this beer store a few days ago when my wife and I came up to SC from Florida to visit family. This, as well as seeing my new nephew, was a highlight of the trip!
The beer section is in the back-left of the store and is kept in great condition. They have a wonderful selection of beer. One of the breweries they have on hand that I didn't see mentioned in other reviews is Stone. The only down-side of this store is that they don't sell individual bottles. This has the effect of limiting the number of different brews you walk away with.
I was a little sad to not find any Founders KBS waiting for me on the shelf, but they have a limited allocation of this stuff and lets face it, other people love it too. If your hoping for KBS, I would recommend calling ahead to see if they have it. Nonetheless, I came away with my arms full of great beer that I can't get in FL and a big smile on my face!
I had the opportunity to chat with Michael, the guy in charge of keeping the beer section stocked. He is nice, helpful, very knowledgeable, and most importantly has a passion for good beer. It is always fun to talk to another beer advocate. He really does a wonderful job and I applaud his efforts. I highly recommend visiting this store if you are in the area.

Looking for a beer store for your Myrtle Beach trip? This is the one place to go for a great selection of American and Belgian beers. The store is clean and well organized, and there is a whole aisle dedicated to the beer.
There are plenty of quality sixpacks and bomber bottles from the likes of Stone, Victory, New Holland, Highland, Terrapin, Stoudts, Southern Tier, Duck-Rabbit, and New Belgium. Too many others to list here.
Defintely a great place to stock up on your trip, and it is also right around the corner from Gordon Biersch in the same Market Common area.

There is a reason that I make the trip up from Pawleys Island to this store every time I'm at the beach. It's the selection. This store is excellent at keeping tabs on new releases and seasonals. And their selection of year-round beers is huge. The prices were comparable to Charlotte's. The selection was almost (but not quite) as strong and well thought-out as Brawley's, and that's certainly saying something. Beach-goers and residents alike should thank their stars for this place.
Green's used to be the best in town, but this Pig blows it away.

I visited this place while vacationing in Cherry Grove last week.
The store is very clean and organized. There are shelf talkers for a considerable number of the beers. The only knock that I have is the lighting in the "shelf" section for the Belgians. There is way too much light shining on these beers. Other than that, a really impressive beer store.
From a service pers[ective, I was never approached by anyone asking if I needed any help, but the section is well-laid out so no assistance was really needed.
Regarding selection, I was disappointed to not find any Founder's KBS or BS, I later found out that they had sold out the weekend prior to my visit. However, there was plenty to choose from: Moylan's, Bear Republic, Stoudt's, Duck Rabbit, Weyerbacher, Smuttynose, Southern Tier just to name a few. They also had a wide selection of Belgian and German imports.
Bell's has also recently arrived in SC and they had stackouts of Oberon, Amber, etc. No Two Hearted though (Centennial hop shortage according to the manager).
Aside from them being out of KBS, Centennial IPA, and Sweetwater IPA, I was impressed and would definitely recommend this store to anyone visiting the area.

Great store and setup.
Was down in Myrtle Beach this past weekend for a vacation and stopped in with some friends. The store was very well organized and lite. Almost all the beers that I saw were kept refrigerated which I was very impressed about. Now the selection was not extremly large but was large and had the brews that make craft/import beers great. I picked up two packs of KBS, Breakfast stout, and Celebrator. Price was on point as well as I purchased a Unibrue glass for 2.50 or 2..99. Service was great as I took my girlfriend back she had questions about some local sweet wines and was helped. We enjoyed the place and the area around it and will be back next time we are in the area.

I have been frequenting Myrtle beach for a week the past four years. Normally frequenting Green's this year I tried the Pig due to the reviews here and it blew Green's away. They had the entire Founders line including KBS and Breakfast Stout - I opted for the Centennial as my session beer at a reasonable price. They had a large Victory line including moonglow weizenbock and old horizontal which are difficult to find in Mass. They had everything people had alluded to below and I grabbed a few sixers of Affligem as my other session for the week. A great store and the gem of the mb scene - it does in fact blow Green's away now.

This place has to be the best retail spot for beer in Myrtle Beach. They have a huge selection that is well organized and divided by region, styles, and season. The staff is not only well educated, but also willing to help. They sell singles on some of their more expensive stuff and have beer style info all over the place. Well done. I was really impressed with this Piggly Wiggly, they are obviously making more of an effort to become the go-to spot for good beer. The prices aren't too bad either.

Let me preface this by saying that this is by far the best place in the area for getting some beer. The guy who runs their beer department knows his stuff. He must put in 80 hours a week, because every time I am there, regardless of what hour. He knows his stuff, and stays up to date on seasonals and new arrivals to the area. He just got in some great brewery glassware and is selling them for only 3 bucks.
The store itself is overpriced, but offers some nice specialty items. But that is irrelevent as far as I'm concerned. If it is decent, and it can be distributed in the area, this pig has it. He actually set up the beer department at the other pig in town in carolina forest, and that is probably the second best beer selection in the area. I am very impressed by this place and recommend it highly to anyone who is looking for a nice place in Myrtle Beach to pick up decent/good/great beer.
Check them out!

Absolutely the best beer selection in the Myrtle Beach area, hands down. There is a huge selection of crafts, including a couple of my favorites (Rogue and Smutty Nose) as well as imports and macros. The manager here is very friendly and knows his beer and is willing to special order tough to find brews. This store is a beer lover's heaven and I stop in at least a couple of times a week. My only criticism is that the prices are a bit high. A six-pack here will ALWAYS cost you more than the price you could pay somewhere else in the Myrtle Beach area. The tradeoff is that there are beers here that you can't find anywhere else in Myrtle Beach for ANY price. This store is definitely worth a stop for any BA traveling to or through the Myrtle Beach area.
