A-dark cloudy chocolate color with a thin tan head
S-faint scent of Bavarian grains, Belgian bubble gum sugars, and sadly an unwelcomed tartness. There's a slight roasted scent in there.
T-comes in with a nice flavor of light cocoa and and nice sweet smokiness. Thankfully there's no tartness left. And that's it. It's a faint flavor, with some of the cocoa lasting.
M-creamy light carbonation with a chalky finish
O-this is a decent beer. Definitely unique. Doesn't exactly cut it as a German wheat beer of any sort. Maybe as an American black lager. Not enough smoke to be a smoke beer/rauchbier. It's enjoyable enough though for a microbrew. Probably won't impress most of you though.

On-tap at the brewpub.
Pours a cloudy light brown color with a one-finger slightly off-white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.
Smells of smoked and toasted malt - that is smoked malt that's got a decent amount of sweetness - along with bruised bananas.
Tastes similar to how it smells, though even more complex. Sweet toasted malt flavors with a light wheat twang up front are overtaken quickly by smoked malts. Midway through the sip bruised banana flavors make their way out and intensify as the beer warms. The ending holds a very mild bitterness.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a smooth thickness with moderate carbonation.
Drinkability is very good. I finished my glass quickly and could have another.
Overall I was a big fan of this beer and it's one that I found very unique. A nice amalgamation of styles and well worth a shot.

I had this on tap today at lunch. It was presented in a standard pint glass, deep dark, opaque in color. The head was small but sticky. The aroma was full of sweet smoke. The flavor was smokey up front, sweetness followed. The smoke lead to an incredibly complex beer. It was medium in body, well carbonated and it stood up well to my pulled pork. The brewers smoked some of the malt over cherry wood to create this German style dark wheat ale.
