A Calgary Herald Readers Choice award winner, a few years in a row, and especially of late it's clear why. Next to Willow Park this is clearly the go to store in Calgary. The store is well laid out, with a great walk in beer room (reminiscent of the old WP beer room), decent pricing, outstanding selection for a Canadian store carrying most seasonals from the regional breweries and many excellent imports.
Matt obviously carries a great deal about the store and the product he carries - well done, and a must visit in Calgary.
Edit Dec/08: Matt has moved to the Dalhouise Co-op, and is working on building the inventory to match what he did at Creekside

I've been impressed by this store since they opened. It's difficult to find a liquor store in north Calgary that carries such a wide selection of beer. It's also nice to see they have such a great selection of beer's by the bottle. Some of my personal favorites they carrie are Pannepot Grand Reserva, Black Albert, Rochefort Trappist brewery, a variety of St. Bernardus beers, Deus and a good selection of great local beers as well. Great store, decent staff. Quality products and broad selection are the ultimate success of this store.

Nice place on the Northeast side of Calgary. The interesting stuff is along the back wall of their very large walk-in cooler. Not world class, but there was a pretty fair breadth of selection. Corsendonk, Chimay, Traquair, Thomas Hardy, Samuel Smith, Ayinger, Brooklyn Brewery, North Coast, Rogue, Fullers, Melbourne Brothers. They cover the range of Belgians, strong ales, IPAs, porters, stouts, reds, browns. They include a better than usual group of the interesting local Canadian selections: Brew Brothers, Wild Rose. For those that live nearby, they are willing to stock any special requests. This is a pretty good store from what I've seen in the local area. Not a lot of dust on the merchandise. The individual that was assisting me was fairly knowledgeable and had obviously sampled a number of the brews. Overall: two thumbs up. (I should note that I haven't been to Willow Park so comparisons will have to wait)
