growler purchased from the brewpub
look is a dark dark brown with slight cola edges. smell is roasty, toasty, sweet and milky. taste follows with rolling roasted chocolate malts, slight earthy hops, and the milky smoothness that seems to come with the style.
another solid beer from this brewery. that said, it didn't blow me away like town hall's.

Served on-tap in a 5 oz sampler glass.
Appears a dark brown to black with a thin off-white head. Not much lacing left.
The nose has slight hints of bitter chocolate, as well as hints of coffee. Doesn't seem very sweet. The taste is full of bitter chocolate and very slight coffee notes. As each sip goes down it moves towards the expected sweet finish.
The body is medium, much lighter than expected and desired. Average to low carbonation levels. Overall, a decent stout, but honestly, I was disappointed by this. Was definitely hoping for more. Still something decent to try if you have the chance, but not something worth seeking out.

Had this at Moosejaw Pizza & Brewing while passing through Wis Dells, WI this summer.
As soon as I saw Milk Stout on the menu, I was in.
A - dark brown to black (lighting?) creamy head. comparable to a Murphy's
S - First trip to my face and the smell was sweet. It had a beer (stout) aroma as expected like other stouts, but perhaps a sweeter smell.
T - a bit sweet, but not so much that it makes you cringe. The milk (lactose) adds a touch of sweetness to the stouty flavor making a different, but welcome taste.
M - silky smooth.
D - what can I say here? If I weren't driving across the country when I stopped in, I would have stayed there all night.
On top of all this, the MJP&B co is a great place to sit and drink this Milk Stout.

A- A beautiful looking blackish pour with a dark tan head.
S- Slightly sweet, maybe some licorice notes.
T- Sweet at first with a bitter ending. Hints of chocolate. Tastes great.
M- Mouthfeel is silky with a light carbonation on the tongue.
D/O- Would drink as much as possible of this before I started to get full. Probably the best Moosejaw offering I've has thusfar. Cheers to them.

Thanks to Mark J. for purchasing this growler for me!
A: jet black, opaque
S: mild nose, creamy chocolate (almost like malted milk shake) quality
T: very good taste, roasted malt, velvety (probably from lactose), nice bitter balance but not too OTT, just an all-around, solid milk stout, a style you don't see much of today
M: creamy, very nice
D: very drinkable, nice stout

Reddened dark brown with a bone colored head and ruby highlights. Solid aroma of cocoa and lactase. Flavor of chocolate and burnt malts with a wonderful milk twang in the finish. Light - medium body, creamy with a nice lactic finish. Easy to drink. Nice beer.

Dark ruby/crimson tone. Clear. Streaks of scarlet seen when held to a light source. Thin, bubbly light brown head. Lace is sufficient. Nice aroma of cocoa and milk sugar. Slight amounts of burnt malt and char detected on the nose as well. All adds up to a nice smelling beer. This is a pretty good beer. Taste is more of the same that is in the aroma. Dry cocoa powder. Milk chocolate. Lactose. Nice combination of flavors for the style. Mouthfeel is a little chalky. Medium bodied at best. But really quite drinkable and quite enjoyable.
