The only bad thing I can say is that I don't live closer! I had the opportunity to visit this store while staying in Carmel for a soccer tournament. Zack and Rachel were amazing! Not only did Zack spend about 30 minutes with me just talking about the various local beers with me, Rachel even called their other Carmel store to see if they had more 3 Floyd's. Service was impeccable. I happened to bring a bunch of beers with me so I brought a couple back later that day they didn't carry, Nugget Necter, White Rajah, and Flower Power. I was so happy to see their faces light up when a fellow beer geek brought those in to share. You truly are missing out if you don't take the time to stop here when in Indy. Only about 3 minutes off 465. Best beer buying experience EVER!

Not bad. Lots of stuff I couldn't find at home in Illinois. Not
only Upland, Three Floyds, and Sun King. I even saw some Jester King! Found some nice Brew Dog, Mikkeller, Bruery, Goose Island, and Schlafly.
The guys there were nice and helpful. They seemed shocked that I was spending so much.

A: This store is a big, wide open beer, wine and liquors store. There are tons of beer and wine to choose from in this big, spacious and clean store. There is plenty of space betwen the aisles, so you do not have to worry about knocking stuff off the shelves.
Q: Tough to guage the quality of the brews on the shelves, but the brews I purchased and the wine I purchased were definitely stored correctly. Both tasted as they should.
Ser: Friendly service indeed. Nobody pushing you to buy anything or something you did not want. The staff knew their stuff and were really helpful in picking out items in a certain price range based on a person's taste.
Sel: They have a nice selection of warm and chilled brews. It is also a varying sort of brews from Belgium, USA, Canada, England, Germany, Russia...etc. Found some nice amounts of Three Floyds, Bells, DFH, Bruery, Lagunitas Heavy Seas, Founders, Hoppin Frog, Boulevard, Dark Horse and Sierra Nevada. Really nice selections of varying styles and countries. I like stopping here when in town as it has plenty of offerings not available in PA.
O: This is, for me, the best place in the Indy area to stop for beer/wine. Lots of options. They also have plenty of tastings at this location and others as well. If you are in the area, it would be a must stop for brews.

Heard that this was one of the prime bottle shops in town (rated one of the top in the WORLD on the "other" beer site...). I'd visited Crown Liquors in Downtown Indy previously, so I wanted to visit #19 to compare.
Clean, spacious feel to the store upon entering. A long L-shaped stretch of beer coolers runs along the back wall straight ahead from the entrance. The warm beer shelves run parallel to this back wall.
Just opposite the long wall of beer coolers is a single bottle shelf, which includes craft bombers and singles from the middle to the right end. From the middle to the left are import singles. I spent a good 30 minutes soaking it all in. Some harder-to-find recently-released brews, and also some older ones (like Goose Island Christmas Ale), lined the craft shelves. The import single bottle selection was about as good as any I've seen in town.
Upon checking the coolers, I noticed some holes. When I checked w/ the store clerk regarding the absence of FFF Gumballhead, she stated that they couldn't get their hands on any; that there was a state-wide shortage. (I'd seen plenty of it, though, at my favorite haunt recently.) On a positive note, though, I found some Bruery Autumn Maple, and also Three French Hens among others.
While this store is not my new favorite, I was pleasantly surprised. I'll definitely be heading back from time to time.

I stopped in this store the other day after noticing it on the way to a wedding reception close by the week before. It's kind of hard to spot from Meridian. This store has a very nice selection of craft and high quality imports on shelves in the back part of the store. Their cooler door selection wasn't the greatest but the room temp shelves were pretty phenomenal. It must've been just under 750 or so different items total. They didn't have everything available in the area but they had a nice selection of sours, including Drie Fonteinen Kriek and La Choulette Framboise (which I'd been looking for for awhile for the girlfriend). I don't think they get the most traffic in the world because they had a few items that have been sold out for awhile in highly concentrated areas. I spent about twenty minutes browsing. The service was ok, the only guy working let me browse for awhile before asking if I needed anything but didn't really go out of his way to let me know if they had any monthly sales or interesting bottles. He seemed a little distracted, but I'm kind of hard to please. Overall this is a fantastic store and well worth a stop. I'll have to stop back in soon.

Liquor and Wine store with a great selection of craft beers before imports and domestic. The real strength of this place is their singles selection. A TON of single bottle beers as well as six packs. The downside of this place is their prices - a little too over priced in my opinion. I was also a little bummed by the service. I bought a BORIS Stout that was marked down on sale. It turned out that the sale tag was old and no one removed it. Unfortunately, they still made me pay full price despite their mistake.

Q: The store itself is clean and in a nice part of town. Dedicated to Wine, Beer, Spirits and Cigars with no real bias in any direction from what I can see.
Svc: EDITED - I've been in there a few times (all since 2009) and never really been approached by anyone. The times that I've interacted with the guys at the register indicated their lack of knowledge about beers. No one was rude, though, which is a plus. I was recently in there and was helped out with great service. The Employee also seemed to know a lot about beer and we engaged in a good, lengthy conversation about different beers, distributions, trades, etc. I have bumped the score up to a 4.5 from a 3.0 based upon this an a couple other things that make me believe that appreciate their beer geeks.
S: The selection is interesting. They have the usual national stuff (Stone, Rogue, etc) as well as the Indiana beers. There are a few things that I found here, such as some of the Allagash special brews, or some tough to find Rogues, that are impressive. I also found some Unibroue 15 here in early 2010, and I bought all 3 bottles. The selection will satisfy a beer geek, as every time I've been there I've bought something. I think that the good thing about this place is that the regular shoppers don't exactly know that they may be looking at a really hard to find beer, or a beer that was bottled 3 years ago and is a vintage.
P: I've been to a lot of beer stores in Indiana, N. Kentucky and South & West Ohio. I would have to say that this is one of the most expensive store's I've visited. I can only really speak for the single bottles, from broken down 6ers to the 750ml Belgians. For instance, the Allagash above and the Unibroue above were all above what I've seen them for when I've found them at other stores. The broken down Bell's singles are even more expensive than at other stores. I have also found some issues with the pricing, where it is incorrectly labeled. I am not a big fan of getting to the cash register and being charged an extra dollar per bottle. Maybe the 6-packs or cases are reasonable, but I steer clear of this store for regular purchases due to pricing.
If I am really looking for something specific around town and am having a tough time finding it, this store makes the list of stops (especially since it is close to home). For a bottle of St. Bernardus, Delerium or even some Stone, I've got other places in the immediate area for a better price. But, like I said, if you are looking for a vintage or hard to find and don't mind paying extra $, I'd look here. It's at least worth the stop.

Mike definitely knows what he's doing with this place. Some of the rare stuff that he brings in is amazing. They've dwindled down a bit but he had a bunch of LA and RR brews in. Lots of rarer beers and Belgians are here, too. You'll find the best of the area in here, too. The selection is pretty damn big, especially with all the wine pressing in. Mike has a great staff employeed here and they all know what they're talking about and even offer a 5% discount to BA and RB members. They are pretty expensive here, and maybe a bit more than the normal in Indy. Still a fantastic establishment.

A great store that prides itself on knowing its beer, wine, and liquor. Good helpful staff that are interested in getting to know you and your tastes. Great selection of what's available in Indiana, including most special releases and specialties in craft beer. Sometimes limited on special releases more than other stores, but my staple go-to for virtually any and every beer related interest or inquiry.
Head here to find great locals (including some you won't find elsewhere), and good advice on new releases or some harder to find regionals. Good selection of locals, american craft, and belgian/worldwide beer.

This is a great store. Tawney, the manager, is cool and knowledgeable. A very chill lady. The selection is great. One long row on bombers and singles and a big L row of coolers. Tons of belgians, interesting imports like baladin, American craft and everything in between. Some hard to find treats like Birra del Borgo, De Molen and things like that are there. Rare to find vintage goodies though. The staff always knows what's in and the store stays well-stocked. There's also a wealth of wine and spirits, of course.
