The beer selection in the Bryan/College Station area was almost non-existant before Specs came in a wrecked shop. Even though they are the "red-headed stepchild" of the Specs empire (because they are almost directly in between the Houston and Austin mega stores) they have, easily, the best 1)Beer selection, 2) helpful employees and 3) price on almost ANYHTING in the immediate area! Every time I go there I can ask any random employee about whats new, whats good, whats cheap etc. and they point me in the right direction. Excellent store, I don't know how I lived without it.

I love Specs. Plain and simple one of the best chain beer stores that I know of in Tx. Then one in College Station is no exception.
Everyone there knows me so I no longer get IDed. They will look up beers for me to see if they have it in, will get it in, or can get it for me from another Specs.
Prices are the best in town, selection is the best in town, and you can also buy good glassware for your beer there.
The beer is in the back and is arranged in a very pleasing and easy to search way. Imports on your left, micros in front of you, a dead area of BMC in the cooler, then off to refrigerated good beer all the way down the line.
Also you can get craft kegs...craft kegs. I got me a keg of SN PA one time. It was awesome.
Go, go now and stock your fridge with a good selection of beer for a small college town.

Being in College Station, you don't have many choices for beer aside from this Specs. Their selection is quite vast being in a college town and the customer service is amazing. I've gone to specs from time to time simply to talk to the employees about what's new and even how to start my homebrewing. I wish we had a bit more distribution here and that they could send beers from their Houston location to this one, but apparently they don't have the licensing for that. The prices are pretty good, not that we have much choice about anything with Texas beer laws. Their liquor/wine selection is also very nice and worth checking out while you're there. Definitely the place to go in College Station. Highly recommended.

I was very happy to find a Spec's in College Station. For work, I would travel back and forth from Houston. It was good to be able to get a little more variety without having to go to the downtown location. They alway's had stuff that my local Spec's around Kingwood and Humble would not have. Lots more Great Divide and North Coast beers. DFH 120, and Real Ale Sysiphus. Also plenty of Belgian beers as well as the other staples (Belhaven, Fuller's, ect). The price is what I would expect for Spec's. The service is spotty, mostly college students. They are more than willing to help you find what you need though. The best liquor store to get craft beer in the area.

Dropped in while killing time this past weekend. Huge store with beer along the back wall. Coolers full of all your BMC offerings and various crafts/imports. Large shelf back in the corner was the place to browse though. Lots of Victory, Saint Arnolds, Shiner, Boulder Beer, Real Ale and the Souther Star Pine Belt Pale. Good selection of imports as well. All the beers were priced well and easy to sort through. Not an awesome selection, but great for College Station, especially compared to when I lived there in the early 2000's.
