Scores were are based on the location of the place, smack in the middle of a tiny Texas college town. Wow, what a shocker for the selection. After a day on the river and my Oskar Blues and Southern Star reserves depleted, we hit up Yellow store based on recommendations from the bar back at the Tap room, not a block away. A small, gas station sized building with about half the coolers devoted to BMC and the other sizable half given to crafts and imports. They had some Victory Wild Devil not long after it came out, plenty of OB's, Stone, Avery, Belgians, Lagunita's, Germans, all bases were covered. Needless to say, Grabbed a Wild Devil for the camp site and probably cleared out the Yella Pils and Dales pale for the next day on the river. The chick behind the register didn't seem nearly as with it as the modded guy wheeling kegs around. A very enthusiastic fella with a high interest in craft beers, two high thumbs up to this place.

I felt I should re-review this place after a couple recent visits here and some other places during a recent stay in San Marcos.
They carry mostly good beer in the coolers on the right side of the building, plenty of IPAs, but not nearly the same quantity of selection as in years past. There used to be a beer shelf in addition to the coolers, now it's just what's in the coolers, and all the coolers on the back wall are BMC.
This tiny place still has a good selection for a gas station, but its not the beer destination it used to be. On the plus side the prices were pretty good. Oskar blues six packs were cheaper here than other places in town. Everything is cold and you can even get alcoholic popsicles.
