Got this as part of a trade with JohnGalt1. Thanks a lot Toby! 2009 vintage.

Appearance: Cherry Adam pours out a very dark brown and seemingly completely flat. A touch of soapy, tan colored head forms that sticks around for about a half second. Lacing is nonexistent.

Smell: Wow, got a feeling I'm going to like this one. Obviously the base scents are very like the original Adam. Lots of leather, smoke, raisin, prune, etc. But cutting into that I get a lot of cherry, vanilla, woodiness, and light hints of bourbon and sherry heat. Not too much since this beer is now 3 years old, but I can still tell it's there.

Taste: The taste is phenomenal. Lots of leather and dark fruits up front, but the middle is highlighted by sweet cherries, vanilla and oak, and the back end packs the slightest alcohol heat. I can still detect a hint of bourbon, but not much. This beer is superb at this point; every element seems to complement the others with nothing out of balance at all.

Mouthfeel/Overall: This beer is medium bodied and for all intents and purposes completely flat. It's very slick in the mouth. However, it doesn't really affect the overall quality of the beer much in my opinion. This beer is outstanding in terms of flavor profile, and a superb take on an ole ale.

A: A very dark but slightly transparent brown ruby tinged black. The head is a laced brown and lingers.

S: Two aromas jump out immediately, chocolate and cherries. Very interesting and unique.

T: Cherries on the front of the flavors. Toffee, caramel, vanilla, oak, and chocolate are next. It finished from the heat from the bourbon/ABV.

M: Very heavy body with some (maybe too little) carbonation.

O: Good not great. This beer IMO, is over-hyped.
