Rustic exterior, no frills, just peanuts, corn hole and beer...excellent beer. Iron Rail IPA is a juicy malt forward beer super consistent. 3rd rail this year is liquid hoppy gold, take your time here though its a monster. Vladim Bora is the Raz. Imp Stout, that usually rings in the holidays and last through Feb. Over all the best beer brewed in Asheville currently in regards to consistency, balance and flavor. would like to see some barrel aged beers from these guys and some cask in the future to really send them into the halls of greatness.

Wow was this a diamond in the rough. I assume this is some sort of regentrification district, as it is in an old industrial area and flanked by distant railroad tracks. Place was not numbered real well, and part of the street was broken off. On to the brewery. Entrance in the back. Place I found to be packed with friends, family and even a few dogs out for walks. Incredible atmosphere, and inside the brewery is great artwork. Beers were great, and although it is only my opinion, their plain porter was one of the best I ever had and another Belgian beer was also fantastic. People spilled outside into the night from this place, a true sign that this was quite the place to be in beer city America. If I am within 100 miles of this place, I will drive out of my way to go here again; it is that good.

This was a great experience. There was a selection of nearly 10 to 12 different brews to choose from. There was even an "express" lane for the IPA which I thought was a great idea. Prices were quite reasonable for craft brews. We had the Iron Rail IPA, of course, there was an express lane and went back for the Derailed Hemp ale which was brewed with hemp seeds. The atmosphere was amazing, very eclectic and industrial looking as it was adjacent to the rail yard hence the names of the brews. Quite a few picknick tables set up for enjoying the beautiful weather as well as corn hole tables. The crowd was very diverse with a mix of yuppies, hippies, middle agers and old folks too. If you are ever in the Asheville area do not miss the opportunity to experience the Wedge.

Spent 10 minutes circling the block on which this place is located. Almost didn't realize that you have to drive around to the back side into a dirt lot beside the railroad tracks. Once we found the place, we sidled up to the bar. Pints (or snifters for the high gravity stuff) were going for $3.50, a definite plus.
As it was a warm (not hot) early evening, the wife and I hit the deck with a bowl full of (complementary) peanuts. There is a nice shaded patio to the side of the tasting room with some typically funky Ashevillian art.
We spent a thoroughly enjoyable hour there just relaxing at the end of the day.

The patio provides one of the nicest experiences you will find at a taproom. The fence and fixtures are works of iron art, and the concrete benches along the walls are unique. There are awnings for shade on hot days. Asheville is an interesting and pleasant place in general, and the brewery is in an old building that is part of an arts district with studios scattered around several blocks. I tried the wit, abbey ale, and IPA. The abbey was fine, and the other two were outstanding. I will go there again and plan to stay longer.

Asheville is a great town for fun and great beer we parked out front by the wedge art studio easy enough to find with a GPS proceeded to walk along the unique metal art wall and down the steps to seeing a large amount of people drinking ales and playing corn hole then we proceeded inside to try there pale ales followed by there wheat beer decided on there alt beer which was my favorite by far not that like we had any bad beer but then we sat outside with local patrons discussing the brewery and Asheville we were also in luck because the food truck was serving brick oven spinach pizza and sage garlic pizza fantastic flavors very tasty with a proper ale on your way out get a growler and sticker keep in mind they only fill wedge growler bottles at 16.00 if you don't have there growler which is still a great price for the IPA we took with us for freinds back home Good Times indeed and free peanuts !

Two things I want to make clear for anyone who is just skimming reviews: 1) This place is hard to find if you don't know where it is. 2) It's worth it.
Spending a couple days in Asheville, this was one of my top 3 choices to stop at coming into it, and I wasn't disappointed. We drove up and could not find any 125 address, but fortunately as I drove past my wife noticed a faded handwritten sign that said Wedge Brewing with an arrow and the words "Past the fence and down the steps". If you drive down the road between the RR tracks and Roberts (it doesn't even show up on Google maps so I don't know if it has a name) it will be easy to find. (The picture on here is taken from that road).
Anyways, once we got there, there was a lot of cool sculpture art outside and some more art inside. We went at 5 pm on a Thursday so there was a decent after work crowd hanging out, but we didn't need to wait in line. We got a sampler of all their beers (8 total) for $5. The pours were small for the sampler, but the pints were only $3.50, and I wish I could've stayed for more. The guy at the bar was really nice and friendly and quick with our beers. No table service or food, but it's pretty clearly identified on their website as a taproom and not a brewpub.
Of the 8 beers on tap, 1 was in a style I'm not a huge fan of, 2 were okay, and the other 5 were great beers. The Community Porter was my favorite of the bunch. Overall it was just high quality beer though.
It was still a bit cold which was a bummer, but I look forward to going back in the summer or early fall to sit outside and drink because it looked like a great place to hang out. Overall a great place to drink great beer if you can find it.

After learning this place was new and in Asheville, I decided to give it a try. My first attampt failed because they were not open: They dont open until 4pm. So, at about 4:15, I went back and they were open.
There was indoor seating, kind of a u-shape to the bar seating area. There was also outdoor seating which consisted of plastic chairs and tables. Since it was a beautiful day, I chose the latter.
There were an IPA, Belgian Wit, Pale Ale, Imperial Stout, AMber Ale, and about two others on draft. I chose the IPA and was very satisfied. Peanuts were available and as far as I can tell, that was the only food option.
The beer was very fresh and the service was friendly. If on the west side of town, definitely stop in here and enjoy a fresh beer.

One if the best small breweries. Awesome location by the river in the arts district. This is a must for Asheville visitors and locals alike. Their brews are great but you can't miss with the Rasberry Imperial Stout. Definitely my favorite! Don't miss out.
