Notes:
Brewed with 2 row Pale Malt, Rye Malt, and a small amount of Black Malt (just enough to give it the color), and Hopped with Cascade Hops to bring out the earthy character of the 150 lbs of toasted Hempseeds added in the Mash Tun.

medium brown, somewhat hazelnut in color with a nice two finger head of tan lace on the top.
Lots of sugar and caramel were present and these were mixed in among a nice solid roasted malt back. Apparent nuttiness started to present itself as it warmed a little bit and the sweetness started to become more pronounced. To be honest it was not that pleasant. Far too sweet for me and I normally like the flavors. The maple sugar was just overpowering and quite harsh. There was a delicate roasted nut flavor in the back n just a harsh biting, sugary mess. There were traces of metallic tones as well, and these just added to the harshness.

brewed with 150 pounds of toasted hemp seeds
a: served in a standard shaker pint glass, Derailed is a medium brown in color, slightly hazed, with thin but persistent coating of fizzy off-white carbonation
s: a pale malt backing provides a clean backdrop for the nutty and toasty aromas from the hemp seeds, very clean and bright with citrus pith hops, earthy, rye mild but adds some range
m: carbonation lively and a touch spritzy on the palate with a light-medium body - seems a touch thin to me
t: nutty and toasty hemps seeds are the prevalent flavor, pale malts provide a clean structure, hops provide a balancing bitterness and simple citrus pith flavors, mostly dry, very crisp finish
o: it's a bit simple but I don't wanna call it bland - it does a nice job making use of the toasty, oily hemp seed character that could be easily covered up, refreshing and drinkable
draft at the brewpub on a fine late Spring evening
