Deep and dark, basically black with a creamy tan head and excellent retention. Leaves rings of chunky, thick lacing down the glass. Good smell of chocolate and lightly roasted malt. Taste is excellent with rich chocolate and again, roast malt. Nice oatmeal flavor. Just a touch of an earthy hop bitterness toward the finish. Mouthfeel is decadently creamy and silky smooth with perfect carbonation. Truly a sessionable Oatmeal Stout if there ever was one. I had a few pints after trying it.

On nitro-tap at the brewery in Asheville. Served in a standard pint glass.
Opaque black with a creamy, tan nitro head that has good retention but that eventually reduced to a thin top-coat. The glass was well coated with lacing for over 1 cm above the beer.
Aroma: sweet malt and oats with a bit of an off-note.
T: a rich flavor of oats and roasted malts, but also a bit marred by the off flavor (Brett?). Too sweet, especially upfront.
M: smooth with well-chosen, light nitro carbonation.
O: mixed reaction due to the off-notes ... Disappointing.

Glad to have a chance to finally try a bunch of new brews from Wedge. Pretty much cleaned the taps out over the last week there.
Pours out nearly completely black with a nice two finger head of tan that caps the top very nicely. Really just a nice looking stout as it settles down it coats the sides of the glass very nicely as well. Aroma is sweet chocolate, light coffee and vanilla notes, a touch of cookie dough, very well rounded I have to admit. Smooth, light feel though, but nicely carbonated and enough of a body to let the flavor sit on the tongue and the sweet, chocolate and lightly bitter coffee settle in nicely. Clean finish with a nice and well rounded vanilla flavor.
Very solid offering that I would not mind trying again at all.

Nice appearing near black, brownish pour. Sizeable cream colored head. Nitro-like head though this was on a traditional tap. Aroma was roasted malt and oatmeal with hints of chocolate. Very creamy medium body. Taste was a great balance of chocolate, roast malt. Slight coffee finish. One of the best oatmeal stouts I've had in a long time, everyone has gone to much more aggressive style stouts. A drinkable, flavorful session stout.
The best beer I had all weekend, better than the Foothills Peoples Porter, which was still pretty good.

On nitro-tap upstairs at Barley's in Asheville served in a standard pint glass a deep opaque black with a typical nitro head that slowly diminished to a ring and left spotty lacing. Aroma was crisp oats and roasted malts. The taste was a nice robust amount of roasted malts with a smooth oat touch to it. The beer was smooth with the usual nitro carbonation. This one was quite enjoyable, even on a warm spring night.
