Brewed with 2-Row Pale and 5 Specialty malts, it's malty in both flavor and smell. A heap of Cascade and Willamette add balance to this easy drinking ale. Hole up, have a few, and tell us what you think. We’re bettin’ it’s the best Brown Ale you’ll ever have.

A-Beautiful, deep brown with a reddish hue. Pours with a thick, off-white 2 finger head with poor retention and minimal lacing
S-Earthy hops in the nose are all I noticed at first, but there was a malty sweet smell in the finish
T-Sweet caramel malts with just a touch of chocolate and earthy hops. A strong malty finish that leaves a sweet aftertaste of caramel and chocolate maltiness and is really drinkable
MF-More crisp than most brown ales, probably because of the pronounced hoppiness.
O-A good brown ale. Very drinkable and unique because of the hops. The maltiness balances well in the finish with the hops and makes for a good brown ale.

Poured from can into Founder's Bolt Cutter glass.
A: Medium brown with slight red tint. Nice 2-3 finger white head with lots of lacing.
S: Lots of hops. A bit of caramel and malts
T: Mostly hops with some caramel and malts at the end. Following the nose...
M: Fair amount of carbonation. A bit dry.
O: Decent American Brown Ale. A solid choice, but I would tend towards a nice stout, Saison, or Belgium...

12oz can in pint glass
no date
A: Dark copper/light brown color, with a very light tan head, the head is a little thin, but leaves a bit of lace.
S: Caramel sweetness
T: Caramel, toast, a definite shot of bittering hops, something that makes me think of a light roast coffee in the background. There seems to be a metallic taste by the end of the beer, not unpleasant, but I could do without.
M: A little too much carbonation, but not terrible. The hops seem to linger on the tongue, borders on astringent.
O: A nice, easy drinking brown ale. There is nothing truly exciting going on, but that is more the style vs. this beer. I would definitely recommend it to a BA who likes more malt driven beers vs. hops driven. Glad I got a chance to try, thanks JC. Worth trying.

So fresh it was still in the bright tank this morning.
A: slightly murky medium-light brown with a stream of bubbles. Initially pours with a finger thick white head that recedes to a thinner covering. The bubble streams continued while I was drinking the beer, making for a very nice visual appearance.
S: citrusy hops, faint malt?
T: initial broad hop bitterness recedes to a softer bitterness with a gentle sweet note. As this is super fresh, the hops are a bit too dominant - a little age (a few weeks) will help shift the balance towards the malt, so it depends on your preference which way you prefer it.
M: smooth, silky.
O: this is a great sipping beer. I prefer it on draft with the higher level of residual sugars, but as super fresh as this batch is, hopheads will also enjoy this beer. With a little age on it, malt heads will be happier. Go buy some!
