I sampled Old World Hefeweizen two months ago, which was my first taste of this new OC brewery. Now its beers are available in bottles, and this is what I grabbed during my trip to Vendome. On to the beer:

Impressive golden color and full of carbonation. Unfortuntely, this head fizzes away like a soda; no head to speak of. The aroma is soft and pleasant, Belgain sugar, candied fruits, bread dough, powdey yeast. The taste features more of the same aromas in the mouth as the nose. Good balance of flavors, not too sweet and not too carbonated. Pears and dough upfront with a tickle of spice. The carbonation cleans it up, then in the semi-dry aftertaste is apple and bread dough.

Good, good, good. Apart from having no head whatsoever, this suceeds in every aspect.

Poured from a corked 750ml bottle. A nice pop when the cork is released with some smoke coming out of the bottle. The head is fluffy and white but makes its exit rather quickly leaving a peaceful golden color behind. The aroma has the presence of candied sugar, plum, apricots and pears with a mirroring flavor profile. The hops are crossed up in the sweetness but are noticable on the spicy side. The sugar hangs on the palette with the heat from the alcohol then fades to the back and finishes on the dry side. The fruity sweetness and subtle hop bitterness blend well for a good beer.
