I was in Northern Michigan for a wedding (in Pinconning, the "cheese capitol" of the state), and had an extra hour in the middle of the day so I ventured down to Bay City.
The town itself is pretty nice. It has around 35,000 people, and a cute little downtown on each side of the river. Stein Haus is on the east side, just a block from the water. The place is bigger than I expected, and has probably more than a thousand steins of all sizes and varieties hanging from the walls and ceiling. The overall look is kind of Disneyland Bavarian, but not as tacky. Pretty good selection on tap, including several from Dragonmead and one from "Tri-city brewing," which I'd never heard of. Bottles from various breweries with multiple from Bells, New Holland, and other regional breweries. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but solid collection none-the-less. Service was excellent. Very prompt and friendly. Bartender knew exactly what was on tap off the top of her head, and which were new. Nice stop if you happen to be in that area of Michigan.

As mentioned this is truly a gem in Bay City. 12 taps pour Dragonmead, TriCity, Stella, Warsteiner, Hoegaarden, Hof Brau, and a few others. Large ceramic and brass tap towers dominate the back oak bar/cooler.The Stein Haus side has a definite German feel to it, Steins, musical instruments, and other antiques line the walls and the ceiling. The Atrium on the other side has an open air market feel. Food is very good, try the hot turkey sandwich. There is also an outdoor seating area which is a great place to quaff and relax.
