Poured on-tap at Centros in Deruyter, NY.
Appearance- Black body with mahogany edges. Good lacing and a decent sturdy head. Nice looking stout.
Smell- Dark unsweetened cocoa, bitter coffee, and a solid malty sweetness. Nothing jumping out of the glass, but pleasant.
Taste- Dark chocolate, prominent roasted malts, and notes of bitter dark roasted coffee. Lightly charred notes are present as well. Sweetness takes a back seat, but helps balance things out. Light citrus hop bitterness in the finish counteracts the dark toasty malts.
Mouthfeel - Light body with full creamy carbonation.
Drinkability- This is a nice stout with a great roasty twang. Smooth flavors and an easy drinking beer. Nicely done.

The beer pours a pitch black color with a thick frothy tan head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a nice, dry/roasted malt scent. It's earthy and toasty with a touch of chocolate malt sweetness for balance. The taste is much the same. It's smooth and earthy with excellent black malt character. It goes down easy with a rich, complex taste and finishes dry with good roasted flavor. The mouthfeel is good. It is a full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a tasty stout. It's complex and easy drinking; a fine session ale.
