Walking in to Jocoby's is like walking into a Detroit neighbourhood bar from a century ago. It's fairly dim, with a lot of dark wood, an old tin ceiling, German-American nicknacks sharing decor spcae with Detroit sports memorabilia, and strange old political cartoons.

The service is always friendly and reasonably prompt, but it can get busy when there are games or other events downtown.

The draft selection is pretty good, probably about 15 taps with a slight emphasis on German beer. I had a beer flight with Warsteiner Dunkel, Spaten Optimator, Stone IPA, Short's Huma, and Dragonmead's Final Absolution.

We had an assortment of German dishes to eat, which were all very good and met the approval of my friend who used to live in Germany.

This bar is just a 5-minute walk from the Renaissance Center, and is not far from Greektown. SAFE
Draft selection is mainly German / European, with some I had never seen here before.
Served in 20 oz pints, relatively inexpensive.
There were some American micros, such as Stone IPA and Michigan brewery Bell's.
There are also a couple of house brews.
Very good bottle selection, both European and U.S.
Food was delicious and fairly priced.
There are all the German favourites; schnitzel, rouladen.
The German sausage soup was great.
There are also burgers, sandwiches, perch.
2 floors, with ground floor being the busiest.
Good service.
