Transcribed from the 'P' section of my tasting notebook.
Appears transparent orangish - amber with one finger of sudsy white head that quickly deflates to a loose surface froth which sticks around and leaves minimal lacing. Smells of a flash of toffee malt upon pouring that never returns, left with a bread / caramel malt and earthen hopping accent combination on the aroma. Tastes of the same as the nose, although kind of flat and simple in character it seems as though this was the target sought given the name of 'Pure Malt'. Probably the gentlest, lightest, beginner's first malt bomb I've ever tasted due to the lighter body, solid carbonation, and mono-focus on a generic toasted malt profile with a faint sprinkling of earthen hops. Not bad, but I've a preference for some more complexity of flavor in my malt bombs.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of sweet malt, pale malt, hint of hop, hint of yeast, but a hint of butterscotch. Fits the style of an English Pale Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, pale malt, hint of hop, hint of yeast, but a hint of butterscotch. Overall, weak appearance, aroma, body, and blend.

I was drinking these in between some other beers this weekend, and unfortunately this Potosi Cave Ale was my least favorite. It is very malty, but the malt flavor is not good. Chewed up bubblegum, wet paper, stale tasting, squishy grainy feel, and very little if any hop presence. This was a new six pack, not old or stored. Not a very good English Pale.
