Vibe - weird but appealing. They like their SciFi. They display local artist's works. It's really a mixture of a bunch of things from bohemian to steam punk. Odd, but I do enjoy it. Clientele can be hipsters to married with children to older folks, but tends to skew younger.
I have gotten food I don't like, but I have not eaten food here that was of poor quality. Huge difference there. It does tend to vary a little pending the plethora of specials. Service can be hilariously fun or a pain in the ass depending on who knows what.
Beer selection is very good, a little import heavy. Prices - well, they are in the city and the prices are pretty steep for both food and beverage. Food selection is an eclectic mix, and you do need to pay attention to the chalkboard where some of the tastier/interesting things to eat might be hidden in plain sight...
I attended an ALlagash beer dinner several years ago that was expensive but worth every penny we spent for three to attend. Amazing beer, food expertly paired, and a great explanation for each.
Overall, my question is the value - it is a pricey joint. Often do breakfast, but there are more wallet-friendly options to choose from.

Greatest beer menu in all of Rhode Island and the food does not disappoint.

Cool, funky spot in Providence. Casual service. Eclectic food menu - well done. Wide variety of beer, both on tap and in bottles/cans. A nice selection of rare items. Knowledgeable staff.

Long story short, this is generally the best quality taplist in or around Providence. Other than that, it's a wannabe nyc hipster bar with shitty service and warm beer. The food is overpriced vegan shit and the place is weird. But if you're looking for the best available beer lineup in the city, this should be the place you should go.

Place looks like a typical college dive bar from the outside. Inside, pretty much the same, but I like it. Crowd was pretty much college students mixed with a few older gentleman as well as a few "in the band" type of guys. I was surprised by the techno music blaring over the house system. There were about 12 or so brews on tap. I had an Easy Jack and a Grunion from Ballast Point. A few local favorites as well. Had some really nice bottles in the cooler: 2013 Parabola, 2012 Sucaba plus a few sours that caught my eye as well. Service was pretty good. Didn't have to wait too much for a refill. I ordered a Reuben and it was really good, actually. They threw a twist on it with the chipotle 1000 island. Pretty cool little joint..

Love this place. May have the best craft beer selection in town, albeit a little heavy on the imports. Should be noted that this is more of a restaurant than bar. Fabulous brunch.

I get up to RI a lot and I've heard about Julian's many times but I thought of it more as restaurant. I was up with my wife recently and she convinced me to give it a try. And I was pleasantly surprised that they have a nice little bar as well.
The place is small but very interesting and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beer list is very good, especially for RI. We split a bottle of Keraterra by Proclamation. It was the best and most interesting RI beer I've had.
Our visit was quick but I really enjoyed it and look forward to getting back there soon.

Insane beer list included KBS, Sam Adams Utopia, 2010 Worldwide Stout, 2007 Raison d'extra, and Stone Old Guardian 22oz Vertical 2006-2011.

Interesting vibe, maybe they have movie nights on Sunday (they had labyrinth playing on a large projector when I went). Very dark, but kind of nice. Awesome selection on draft, but very pricey (as expected by the niche brews).

This place is a must for belgian beer lovers. The food is terrific and they have a number of specialty dinners every year. I would give it a 5, but sometimes the place can get crowded and service can be a bit slow. That being said, for an overall dining experience in Providence for a beer lover, this one can't be beat.

Small-ish place, with a small bar and not too many tables. However, the atmosphere is nice - bar-like, certainly - and the accents in the restroom (Star Wars action figures? PEZ dispensers? Frankenstein on the TV???) give it a nice unique feel.
Some great stuff on tap, from several countries. Solid options I noticed were Pannepot, Delirium offerings, Gulden Drak, DirtWolf, and plenty more. Serving temperature was good (chilled but not over-cold), tulips were provided.
Service was friendly and quick. The owner came over to say hi (I'm not exactly a suit-and-tie kind of dude, so that was cool). Bartenders were friendly, quick to offer a new beer, and knowledgeable. My first beer ended up a surprise keg change, so I wasn't charged. No complaints here!
Selection was really, really nice. I've mentioned some of the tap choices; there were a surprising number of taps, I want to say about 20. Then, the bottle selection was excellent, as well, with a number of solid brews (including Cantillon Gueuze).
As for food, I enjoyed a portobello-topped burger, which was really, really excellent. Fries are not an automatic; all sides are extra. I didn't try anything else, but the menu looked very good, and if the rest of the food is anything like the burger, then I recommend it all!
Prices for both food and beer were a bit on the high side, but well within a reasonable range. This gets ticked up one rank because of the extra cost for sides; a burger, fries, and a single beer would have put me in the neighborhood of $21-25 (without tip, and without splurging on an expensive bottle, like that Cantillon).
Great little place. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.
