Much love for this beer, but damn what's up with the floating sediment?

Flavor-wise I love the English-leaning malt profile, works well with the American IPA liveliness and astringency. Nice to have a drinkable IPA that is bitter without being citrusy, just for a change of pace from most of the IPAs I get down with.

There is a massive amount of sediment in this beer.

Overall, it's kind of a was of flavor. Thick malts with spiced tones on there and a bit of a burn from who knows what. Thicker feel. Eh. This beer is just, "there." Nothing overly interesting or noteworthy.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a cloudy caramel color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of tropical fruits, hops. Taste is well balanced hops and malts. Bitter, yet not overpoweringly so. Some tropical fruits are present. Very easy drinking. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is a fine quality beer.

A: Ruby Red copperish tone with a 1 inch head. The white coating laces the glass.

S: Pine and citrus smells in the nose. Grapefruit up front with the piney notes coming in the back end of each whiff.

T: Grapefruit is very prevalent up front with a nice citrus bite but is fades quickly and there is no bite on the back end. The flavor fades quickly like fruit stripe gum. Not much of a malt backbone or anything really besides the grapefruit up front

M: Very intense smooth feel up front but the sensation fades quickly and there is nothing there after the initial tingle.

O: Not a bad IPA but nothing no write home about. The upfront flavor and look of the beer offers a lot of promise but certain aspects are lacking

This beer poured out as a cloudy copper color with a white white on top. The retention and lacing aren't too bad on this beer. There is a ton of flakey sediment in this beer also. The smell of the beer has a pretty good hoppy aroma with some mild malt. The taste of the beer bitter with an earthy malt backbone with more earthy hop flavors throughout this beer. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a high amount of carbonation. Overall it's an average IPA at best. Not something I'd run out to buy again though.

Poured into a pint glass.

A: Cloudy orange-brown with lots of huge particles and a three-finger, off-white, creamy head that lasted a long time. Great lacing.

S: Citrus hops. Very mild though.

T: Light sweetness and moderate to high bitterness. Citrus hops.

M: Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Very smooth due to the obvious lack of filtering. I like smooth.

O: I think this beer would have benefited from a bit more hops and a bit more alcohol. Pretty good though.

Daddy Fat Sacks IPA

Tastes more like a Double IPA than a true American IPA. Has more of a malty taste than I was expecting. Nice Hazy Orange, with some light citrus notes. Lacks the true Hoppy Pop I look for in an American IPA. Still an above average brew and a nice 7.5ABV for the price.

A - Looking at the bottle I am not sure how this is an "imperial" IPA. ABV isn't imperial by any standards and no note other than just a regular IPA. Regardless it has a deep copper amber with a 1/2 inch of sticky white head.

S - Smells like a west coast IPA, very bitter and acidic with very little cracker like malts to balance. Hope it tastes... balanced.

T - Acidic almost like a burning pine with very little balance to the actual malts. Liking my IPA's more balanced and fruit forward this is a major turn off. Piney, bitter, unforgiving, and hard to finish but I choked it down.

M - Medium yet as stated ABV is noted and hops are cloying,

Overall not worth buying again and totally not worth picking up for 4 bucks for a single.

$2.50 single from Abe's.

Hazy amber body, topped by four fingers of flat, not bright or glossy, white foam. Drippy lacing.

Strong aroma of lemon, orange, and pine. Somewhat cleanserish.

A quick flash of sweet is quickly burIed beneath a mouthful of industrial cleanser. Very astringent, and not in a way I like. Some fruit does bubble up through the detergent. Unfortunately long lingering aftertaste.

Not a pleasant experience.

Being an ipa person, this beer from Roy pitz really disappointed me. When I see an imperial ipa I look for a nice bitter and hoppy ale that leaves my palate coated.

A- looks nice. Nice orange hue and murky. A bit of floaters were constantly swirling around

S- smells great. Not to overpowering. It smells like a decent ipa and has very earthy and smooth aroma to it.

T- here's where this beer lacked. Evverything about the taste was sub par. They call it an imperial ipa but the flavor Is more of s west coast pale ale. Just very lacking for my tasted.

M - smooth and sorta creamy. The yeast is unpleasant. Little to no carbonation.

O - all in all, I wouldn't buy this again, nor would I recommend it to a friend. I'd consider trying it on draft, but I honestly don't think it would be any better.

Striking amber-copper color with at least a finger of foamy head that leaves plenty of lacing. The nose is on the mild side, but some hop notes are evident. There is some malt in the flavor and this offering is certainly pleasantly hoppy. The ABV is a bit low for an Imperial. Personally, I would consider this a "tweener" -- bigger than an IPA, but a bit smaller than the elite imperials/doubles out there.

My first offering from Roy Pitz and I like it a whole lot!
