Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a fine half finger off-white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of sweet stone fruit, cherry, light port or sherry, oak. Flavor is fresh and dried stone fruit, hint of cherry, quite port-like, but with an oaky fruit and light malt finish. A hint of sour cherry and hops in the finish. Medium bodied. Although this was aged in white wine barrels, the flavor profile is more like a port or sherry bottle, probably because of the ABV. A quite different flavor profile, but most similar to a Belgian dubbel without the Belgian yeast and spices. Not like anything I've tasted before, but quite enjoyable. Two Beers has been uneven in their regular line up, but I've really enjoyed the two Alta series I've tried. I'll be looking forward to the 4th one coming out this winter.

Bomber served into a snifter.

Deep copper color and a nice frothy head and heavy, sticky lacing. Yeast sediment is visible floating in the glass. 3.75

Smells sweet, vanilla-heavy and butterscotch-like. Caramel rich like a barleywine. 4

Curious flavors here. Partly like a barleywine or old ale in the rich, caramel-heavy, sticky sweet flavor. But it's also tart and slightly fruity. Strawberry emerges heavy as it warms. Something marshmallow-y shows too. The fruitiness reminds me of a Belgian brew. 4

Sticky, sweet, mildly tart and fruity, with a slight vinous quality. No booze to speak of. Smooth and creamy. 4.25

This is unique and I enjoy it. Something different and that's to be respected.

Opened Nov 10 — High Divide 2014 vintage.

The white wine barrels add a fantastic complexity of oak, and the peaches and cherries round out the profile. Summer barley wine. So good.

This is a super tasty beer.

It's difficult to describe the flavor accurately with words, but the peaches and cherries are very apparent. Plenty of white wine aftertaste, and it's all very well balanced.

I've now had two of these bottles, and am convinced it's one of the most unique beers I've seen come out of WA state. Highly recommend drinking on a hot summer day.
