Being in CT for the weekend, I decided to check out Prime 16 last night. The beer selection was awesome. They have 20 taps and a nice bottle list. They have everything from PBR (the only macro lager) to German lagers to Belgian ales to good old American extreme beers. While I was hoping to see a larger selection of local beers (New England Brewing, Hooker, etc.), They did have a couple Berkshire beers on tap (though I think one had just kicked and was switched to Old Rasputin). I had a Farmington River Hop River IPA, an Avery Collaboration not Litigation, and a Brooklyn Keller-Helles. My wife had an Allagash Black (much better on tap than in the bottle), and my brother had a Berkshire Hefeweizen. We had some food too. The wife and I split a pulled pork flatbread pizza, which was just awesome and we had side salad.
The only thing that I wasn't crazy about was the atmosphere. They had some good tunes playing, but the place had this upper class stuffy kind of vibe. It was sparsely decorated and just seemed to have an air of arrogance to it. The logo (and name) make it sound like it's a steakhouse, but there was no steak on the menu that I noticed (though lots of burgers that looked awesome). I didn't ask, but the logo actually looks like an almost empty pint glass (hence the 16 in the name) with bull horns (the prime, though I think the prime is for the craft beer).
Overall, it was worth the trip into New Haven. I think once they develop a regular customer base and figure out where they want to fit into the New Haven bar scene, the atmosphere will improve (they've only been open about 3-4 months) as I'm not sure the normal bar-going crowd in New Haven is sure what to expect of a bar that doesn't serve Bud Light (though they did have bottles of Sam Adams Light and Prime 16 Light Lager on tap that seemed to be brewed by Opa-Opa).
I did hear the bartender explaining that the only thing they have a half barrel of is the Prime 16 Light Lager. Everything else is logs that they switch to something new when it kicks.

Love this place but hate the location. If i were in NH this would be the place to hit up. Great selection and great staff. The burgers are outrageously delicious. just dont like leaving after having a few knowing the cops are ready for you to give you a dui. my rating should be legit outside of my dislike for drinking in NH

Visited on a Monday night while in New Haven, CT:
Overall...I have got to say that this is a good place...what is better than a good burger and a good beer. Not much. Stepped into the bar section and found a seat, politely asked if the seat was taken and received glares from the two guys on either side, like I was putting them out or something. The place was fairly full, so they had to be expecting that someone was going to sit there. Regardless, the bartender promptly greeting me and I was sitting right in front of the cask tap. I asked him what was in the cask...nothing. Very disappointing; therefore, the selection took a little bit of a hit, but not much. Very good beer selection and quality of beer. Both bartenders were knowledgeable about the selection as well as beer in general. I had the Cowboy Burger, which was done well. No printed beer menu, the beers were on a chalk board. I thought that the prices were reasonable for the East Coast. I would definitely go back...I may go back this week while I am in town. Probably a must stop if you are in New Haven.

I love Prime. Great beer selection. Really good food. Fantastic Happy hour. Knowledgeable bar tenders and servers. Beer centric crowd. Gets crowded, and is a little bit of a cramped space, but you can usually find a comfortable spot to hang out. Always better to go outside of dinner time if you can.
Best beer bar in New Haven, and great food to boot, at a decent price.

Great spot in New Haven, Ct. Smart set up with a balance between the long bar area and tables. Beer menus kept current and prominently displayed.
They were running about 20 taps, all interesting, while I was there. Good mix of locals, domestics, and imports. Each beer notes with name, brewery, style, and ABV. Website current too. Strong bottle selection if you stay away from the taps.
Great menu - loads of burgers (try the Bison) with different variations. Abundance of appetizers, sides, other plates.
Overall, a great place in NH to grab something to eat and enjoy some top notch brews.
