This brew is black and oily with a small brown head, and has heavy curtains.

The smell is earthy and fruity and sweet, old bananas, dried fruits and sherry.

This is actually an Imperial stout with not that much sweetness, there is more sour notes, like dried apples and Madeira or old port, a good bitter finish. But the alcohol is well hidden and just carries the fruity complex notes.

Low carbonation, a complex and intriguing body. Very well balanced for my taste.

I really like this, the sometimes overpowering sweetness in these heavy beers is not there. Something to sit and sip for hours. Sampled at beer tasting at De Klomp, Linköping, Sweden.

A: Dark brownish with almost no head.

S: Sweet licorice (alot), chocolate, sugar and salt.

T: Chocolate, Licorice, Roasted malts, Brown sugar and salt.

M: Very well balanced but body is a bit think. Quite drinkable for 12% tho.

If only this would have had some more body to match the quite powerful aroma.
