P:  Slightly hazed orange copper mostly placid body. Small dollop of instantly fading off white head thin wet lacing once swirled. 

S:  Roasted caramel and toffee, subtle spiced hops and orange oil. Seems watered down.

T/M:  Taste follows the nose with additional stale grains,  burnt toffee and spiced rum.  Medium body finished dry. Lack luster malt profile. 

O:  A good Oktoberfest that has the all the flavors, subtly, expected and a dose of spicy hops.  Nothing overly impressive but a good beer. Doesn't have the stale aftertaste that comes with some Oktoberfests.

A - Pours a light orange/amber color. Slightly hazed with a brief 1 finger head.

S - Grainy, wet straw, woody, lots of lager yeast,

T - Earthy and grainy dryness upfront, hops are grassy and spicy, sweetness slowly creeps in with notes of toasted caramel. Finishes dry and spicy with hints of orange peel.

M - Medium body, good carbonation, dry.

Great tasting beer but the malt struggles to shine. Nice hop profile and good carbonation.

Has a fleeting and minimal off-white head from a medium pour. A few swollen fingers of lace jut here and there. Orange on color, with some streaks of light brown threaded throughout.

Earthy and grainy with some light fruits to the nose. Tastes of more light fruits (apples, faint oranges) and spice up front, with a perfectly timed caramel malt backbone that flirts with beervana. I reach for some hop bitterness, and get a small handful, which is just enough to add, rather than detract.

Medium mouth-feel; smooth and delicious. Initially crisp, and becomes slightly creamy as it warms, which works out well.

Slow out of the gate, but ends with a bang. This beer rivals some of the better true German Marzens I've tried.

A careful pour yields a clear golden orange body with a creamy tan head. Smell is a hint of cinnamon up front, followed by a fresh lager yeast component. Taste is a sweet, bready front, followed by an herbal, zesty hop middle and finish. Strong,firm bitterness matches the malt levels well. A hint of ethanol in the taste, but nothing too serious. Mouthfeel is rich. Overall an excellent Marzen, I will definitely be getting a 6 pack of this again next year. The beer was put in bottles approximately a week ago (learned via a BA thread), so that no doubt leads to the super fresh flavors I've tasted. The only downside is the beer is a tiny bit light in the malt department, but other than that, its a fantastic beer.

Pours copper with 3 fingers of khaki colored head.Minimal head retention & lacing

S: Bready & toasty malt notes,some hints of woody hops & pears too

T: Toasty malt, dryness, some metallic hops up front. Some grainy bread notes mix with toasty malt, herbal hop bitterness& woody hop notes as this warms, plus a touch of caramel.Finishes dry, toasty & with some herbal hop bitterness

MF: Medium bodied, low carbonation, good balance

A good take on the style. A little more malt depth & a little less dryness would make this better IMO, but no slouch by any means

12oz->Leinenkugel Pint
A ~ Pours a reddened copper with less than inch of of white head. This brew is filtered, unlike most of Marshall's offerings, But it looks pretty great.

S ~ Noble hops, Autumn Leaves, Toasty Malt.
Simple & clean nose. A touch of berry.

T ~ Nose follows through to the fullest...
Nuts, Toast, Leaves, Wildberries; tastes like Autumn.
Hops lend notes of pepper & grass. Touch of crust.

M ~ Moderate bitterness with a warm medium bodied-feel.

D ~ Best Oktoberfest I've had all season. Will certainly pick up more & more. Glad to see Marshall is finally bottling this.

A nice golden carrot orange color with some haze and a beautiful creamy two fingers worth of foam. It was a hot day, and the look of it had me on the verge of salivating.

The smell is not too pronounced while it's colder, and as it warms you can smell some caramel malts.

The taste is wonderful. It starts off right away with a rich, caramel and toffee malt build. It's sweet, robust, and uniquely layered. All of the bold malts are balanced out with a nice spicy hop bite. As a hop-head, I really loved the noticeable hoppiness to this beer which i've missed out on in a lot of the Oktoberfests i've had so far this season.

In the mouth it feels very crisp and refreshing with a slightly dry finish. the carbonation is very solid, not too little or too much. Perfect for the warmer days of October.

I could easily give this a 5 on drinkability, but at 6% abv. it can sneak up on you. I can't wait until Marshall has this out in in bottles because then i'll be drinking it a lot more often in the fall.

On tap at McNellie's in OKC.

Light copper with a bone-colored inch of head.

Bready malt, a touch of sulphur, and a surprising amount of spicy hop flavor, at least for the style. Drier than most of the American brewed versions I've tried, which tend to play off the caramel sweet end of the style spectrum. This one adds just enough caramel to add complexity but doesn't overwhelm with it.

Pretty nice overall. Definitely my favorite of all the local examples being brewed.

Marshall's Oktoberfest Lager pours up with some authority creating a fluffy tannish-white head that crowns the hazy tawny-deep copper colored body. Very good-excellent head retention with a sustainable Bavarian lace. The pleasant biscuity-toasty aroma has some rich underlying melanoidins that adds to the complexity. There's a notable floral spiciness (dandelion, edelweiss, hibiscus) from the Noble Tettnanger hops with just a hint of fruitiness as it warms in hand. The flavor starts off nicely toasted then carries into a soft, bready sweet graininess that's marked by a pleasant bitterness which creates a well-balanced, complex finish. This medium bodied, creamy textured Märzen has lagered many weeks on the hallowed Münchner yeast & will continue to mature nicely until its release. I'm proud to say that I had a hand in brewing Marshall's first seasonal! The Marshall's definitely know how to throw an Oktoberfest party & now they can share that celebration with everyone. Here's to their Gemütlichkeit spirit!
