Look: Hazy straw yellow. White head that recedes rapidly. Minimal lacing.

Aroma: Orange peels, wheat, yellow cake.

Taste: Starts with peppery spices then goes into orange, cinnamon, wheat. Gingery finish.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied.

Overall: A nice subtly spiced beer that would go good with a meal.

Pours a hazy, golden/straw color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of wheat, slight hop, lemon, floral aromas, spices (coriander and clove?), and a hint of sweet malt. Fits the style of an American Pale Wheat Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of spices, wheat, hint of sweet malt, slight hop, and hint of pale malt. Overall, weak appearance for a wheat, but the aroma, body, and blend, were above average.

On tap in a shaker. Pours a pale golden, quite hazy with minimal head. Not a lot of lacing. Spicy lemon nose with coriander. Taste is lots of subtle spices, lemon peel. Palate is fizzy and crisp. Overall a pleasant, standard wheat. Very refreshing for a summer day on a patio with friends.

750ml->Chimay Tulip
A ~ Pours sunset orange with cream-colored head.

S ~ Pretty vibrant nose of berries, apples & a bit of pear. There's an odd oak/cask aroma that reminds me of Oud Bruin

T ~ Lactobacillus, Apple-cider vinegar, Lemons, Wet bread, Coriander...wheat flavor is very dry. Again, this is like some sort of Flanders ale. Tons of underripe fruit.

M ~ Very tart, akin to Oud Bruin. Semi thin mouthfeel with a bit of malty cloy.

D ~ This must have been sitting for a minute, but honestly the sour-notes that arose from being bottled so long actually worked for me. If it hadn't been a wheat beer with coriander, It probably would have been a different story. Drank the whole bomber with no signs of sickness. Kudos to Marshall for making a beer that tastes great even after "going bad." Did not expect to have a sour, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.

*I must add that this was from a waxed bomber, which haven't been in production for over a year now. A fresh six pack will have a completely different flavor.*

A - Poured out a slightly cloudy, golden yellow color with a high level of carbonation. It had a one-finger, white head of very bubbly foam that left minimal lace.

S - It smelled of lemon zest and some cracked wheat. Not strong but not flat either.

T - Nice wheat flavor with a touch of yeasty spice. Some lemon bite adds some zip.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light to medium bodied ale with a dry, clean finish.

O - This is a pretty nice witbier. I'm looking forward to trying more from Marshall.

Out of a bomber and into a glass

A - Poured a hazy yellow-orange color. Very bubbly. Not much head or lacing.

S - Lots of citrus and malts

T - excellent taste, with a citrus pop and banana undertone to it.

M - medium to light body. Lots of carbonation, but not overwhelming. Nice crisp feel.

D - This is an excellent wheat beer. I can drink one after the other in the heat of the summer. Well done.

Thanks to coldmeat23 for this one. Shared with the wife with some delicious home-made Mediterranean food. Served in a Half Acre pint glass.

A - Soda-like carbonation. A very loud finger of white foam quickly sizzles away leaving no lace, collar, cap, haze, or bubbles. Unfiltered dark golden urine or apricot nectar colored body.

S - Wheat, coriander, clove, some orange peel citrus character. Generic lightly malted grain with light notes of honey. Some other nebulous spices in the periphery.

T - Taste is more bland with a slight playdough character to it mixed with the sweet malt and grain. Again, there's a faint hint of orange peel before transitioning to a yeasty finish and aftertaste. Not much in the way of spices.

M - It burns, it burns! Too much carbonation - it's like drinking Pepsi or something. Lightly sticky finish and a light crisp body that's appropriate for 4.7%.

D - I was able to finish a bomber (mostly on my own, my wife moved on to something else pretty quickly). This would have been much easier to drink with half as much carbonation. Pretty mediocre, with some serious flaws.

Straddling the bounds of Hefeweizens and Witbiers, also with a grain-flavored American Wheat flavor, this beer is trying to do all-things-wheat at once.

A dull and murky golden elixer holds an abundance of carbonation early, which fuels a loosely knit white head. Low in retention and lacing, the beer quickly fades into a lifeless appearance except for steady streams of carbonation trailing from the bottom of the glass.

Grainy-sweet aromas of wheat, bread dough, and sugar cookies give a strong start to the nose. Lemony esters and tropical fruits give a bright and zesty scent to the beer. Flowery and spicy with clove round out the aromas.

The wheaty-sweet malt flavors once again start the first impression while the spritzy acids of lemon, citrus, and tropical fruits give a decidedly estery taste to the flavor profile. Clove, white pepper, corriander, and even chamomile give a lot of variety to the already fruity-rich beer.

Early carbonation gives a creamy first impression, but the beer quickly evolves into a spritely feel of carbon dioxide scrubbing, along with citric acids, and lemony tartness. Soft and somewhat oily textures come in later in the session and get away from what's best about powdery dry Witbiers or heafty fleeting Hefeweizens.

Sundown Wheat is a fine Wheat Beer but is very non descript and the extra spices seem forces and unnatural. Thanks Cheezdawg!

Served in the 0.5 L Paulaner weizen glass. Huge tight white head. Cloudy golden yellow color. Smells of lemon, white pepper, yeast. Citrus, orange and lemon, sweet. Juicy, fruity sweet. Aftertaste is sweet tart. Touch of pepper throughout. Ethanol seems a bit more than 4.7%. Medium to light body.

Hmmm, upon reading this now it sounds better than the score we gave it...

22oz bottle labeled with a spooky, barren tree/fall scene. Very cool.

A: Aggressive pour yields a nice white head over an attractive shade of golden yellow. High clarity for a wheat.

S: Floral Belgian yeast, white pepper, and a little wheat aroma. Slightly sour lemon is also apparent.

T: Heavy wheat flavor, with some low-key grassy hops and the slightest bit of lemon. Pretty straight forward wheat, without much depth of flavors. Finish is short with a slight sour nip.

M: Good body for style, well-carbonated, and about as dry as you'll find in this style.

This is a pretty no-frills wheat beer. Not too complex but it's clean and well-done. Very easy to drink and you can have quite a few at this ABV %.

22oz. wax capped bottle poured into a New Glarus weizen glass. A big thanks to Chris for throwing this in during a DLD trade.

After a little agitation it pours a turbid straw with a sticky white head. There was a medium to high amount of lacing on the side of the glass as the liquid level lowers.

The nose is fairly neutral wheat beer smell, the character is leaning much more towards and American wheat beer. There are some coriander and orange type smells as well as a little yeast spiciness but it's still pretty restrained.

The taste mirrors the nose mostly with a pretty neutral yeast malt taste. I'm not really getting much wit beer character and I would definitely categorize this as a American wheat beer.

The mouth feel is a little slick on the back end with medium/ high carbonation. The one great thing this beer does have going for it drinkability, which is very high and it a very nice warm weather beer.

Great wheat beer. Serve cold-not cool. Be careful to not let this Sundown Wheat out in sunlight (no pun intended) for too long at all. Very easily can have the ruined famous 'banana' taste. Fresh on the tap it's a great summer beer. Small fruity bite paired with a nice rich wheat heavier taste-blends well to a very balanced wheat.

Another thanks to armock for sharing this bottle with me and a couple other BA friends.

A: Pours a cloudy orange/yellow color. A two finger white head forms with good retention. Light lace is left behind.
S: Wheat and spicy aromas up front. There is a coriander and peppery aroma. Some orange and lemon aromas as well.
T: Sweet malt up front with lots of spices. Coriander is most prevalent. Orange peal and some apple skins. Some vanilla as well.
M/D: A medium body and carbonation. Crisp and dry. Smooth and refreshing to drink. I can quaff this all day.

An excellent Witbier. The spices are great, and add a dimension of complexity, though it does not overpower the senses at all. Something I highly recommend.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a pilsner glass. Pours a nice golden color, with minimal head. Smells and tastes of orange peel, yeast, honey, lemons. Very lightly carbonated, thin mouthfeel, an easy drinker that goes along with the style. I have had these beers before, and I beleive they are better on tap. Definately one to try if you find yourself having a pint at McNellies and need something to quench your thirst!

Well that was about the easiest wax cap I've ever encountered.

A little taste of Oklahoma thanks to russpowell. Kept in the fridge ever since. :)

Poured into a lush-sized tulip. Bottle pop was less the subtle. The pour spritzed like soda. A long, but thin off-white/ashy head comes & goes, leaving the beer naked & looking flat. A lightly steeped tea colored body, just slightly murky.

Initial smell is peppery wheat & apple, followed by a good bit of lemon, & then honey. The end of it is consumed in a macerated gas of leaves & twigs sprinkled with a little coriander. Smells a little big for 4.7%.

Taste is initially hampered by the intense carbonation. Salty wheat, & very doughy(but lacking in body). Mild, muddled spices, menthol & copper sort of hop effect, & some lingering yeasty bread on the finish. Feels lagered.

The prickly carbonation grew on me, but the menthol wore out it's welcome early, & there just wasn't too much to focus on in total. Burps up like 7-UP... I think American-styled wheat beers are very spotty, but at the same time, I don't think I've ever turned one down. ;)

I had this beer on tap and it was billed as an American style Belgium White and I think it lived up to that billing. It poured a clearish golden color with a nice head. The overall taste was a nice crisp sweet taste, that left a nice aftertaste. When I'm need a lighter beer, I'll generally go grab a Sundown Wheat

Poured from a waxed toped bomber, golden slightly murky appearance with a decent head. Seemed to be a little low on the carbonation as the head dissipates quickly. Citrus orange smell w/ some hops to back it up. Nice taste a little hopy for this style but still good. The hops tended to overpower the citrus spice notes. I would drink another given the opportunity. Solid beer.

Nice looking wax topped bottle. Pours a hazed oaky color with a beige head that settles to a thin cover. Nose has wheat malts, tropical fruits, spices, and honey. Flavors of citrus fruits, wheat malt and summer spices. Crisp body well carbonated. Nicely balanced wheat beer.

Poured from a 22oz wax dipped bottle into a pint glass. No dating info but the store had just started carrying it. Picked it up in OK while visiting the in-laws. Was surprised to find out this is the 1st OK beer that I've reviewed after 15 years of visits. Anyway. It was a slightly hazy golden color with some carb streams but no lacing. It took a hard pour to get the head going and then it ended up being a good sized but short lived leaving nothing.

The aroma was a bit weak. Definitely could tell the blending of the APWA and witbier styles. Orange and corriander from the wit and watered down from the APWA. What was there was good but really hard to swirl it to get the aroma going. The taste followed the aroma. Good wit base but was watered down. It was very drinkable but didn't have a ton of flavor. Find myself downing it without really thinking about it. So goes down easy but doesn't really scream drink another...unless I'm just wanting to drink some beer to quench the thirst and don't really care if a lot of flavor. Mouthfeel was watery.

Overall, a decent beer that I'd probably drink again if I found it on tap and it was this or BMC. Recommend if you can easily get or if you are looking for an Oklahoma beer to knock off your try one from each state list.

Pours a very light orange to golden color. Thin cap of creamy head.

Smells very lightly Belgian--yeast, spices--but mostly of oranges and honey.

Taste is light. Some orange and grain (wheat? oats?) in middle balanced with a faint minty hop character and a yeasty fiinish.

Mouthfeel is smooth thought perhaps a little thin in body. Certainly drinkable in terms of going down easy but not as much in terms of excitement.

I love witbiers but I don't love the American wheat style. This beer definitely accomplishes its aim according to the brewer--a melding of these two styles. It does that quite well. You get some witbier orangey/Belgian elements but only in restrained way and you get a light body. A nice beer, but a little too restrained for my tastes. Much more excited about Eric's other beers but this one is more of a crowd pleaser. On that score it does its job very well.

Appearance
Copper-tinged orange and slightly hazy with a good fluffy head

Smell
Citric and fruity, not especially yeasty in the typical wheat beer way

Taste & Mouthfeel
The dried orange peel and coriander used in this really define the flavor, leaving the wheat to play a minor role; I really enjoyed the sour fruitiness and the minimal banana esters; very crisp, light, and refreshing; maybe not as soft as a wheat should be, but it didn't detract

Overall
I don't buy wheat beers often, but I would definitely seek this out again in the future. I'd recommend it to new craft beer drinkers as well as those familiar with beer and seeking something a bit different.

Pours honey/amber with 1+ finger of beige head. Zero head retention or lacing, slight hazing at the bottom of the bottle

S: Slight breadyness & some citrus

T: Breadyness, white pepper & orange peel up front. Slight hints of caramel mix with grainyness, plus hints of tangerine as this warms. Finishes slightly bready, with white pepper & a kiss of coriander, almost pulled a 4.0

MF: Medium bodied, low carbonation, balances nice

This went down very easy, more of an American wheat IMO, but very quenching & interesting enough I'll add this to the summer rotation, This is my favorite from these guys as bottled offerings go...

Pours a hazy pale yellow with a virtually undying fluffy, meringue-like white head. Smell is promising with prominent notes of lemon, banana, and coriander with some sweet malt in the end. Tastes involves big notes of coriander and allspice followed by a bit of malt graininess, bananas, oranges, and dried orange peel. Goes down super easy with a creamy, light-to-medium mouth-feel. This is a criminally underrated, highly drinkable and complex American wheat.

Pours a hazy amber with a thin white head. Smells of yeast and spices. Taste is wheaty, peppery, and fruity, with a nice bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is smooth, high, but soft carbonation. Drinkability is nice, this is perhaps not the most authentic Witbier, but it is a solid great tasting beer overall.
