Very cool and busy place on the west side of the Deschutes. Really open, with lots of outdoor seating.
Quality is above average, but nothing special. I've never been a huge fan of their beers, but they are drinkable and worth trying.
Service was good, pretty fast considering how busy they were, and helpful when we asked for suggestions.
Selection is good, they had about 10 different house beers on tap, good variety too.
Food was quite good, we loved our hummus plate (2 different types) and our pizza was really tasty.
Prices were comparable.
Overall, this is a really cool spot with tasty food, and decent beers.

this was my second visit here. last time i was really hammered and don't remember too much of it.
came for dinner on a thursday night and the place was BUSY. on a thursday. i was by myself so sat at the bar. definitely a mixture of people here; families with kids, old guys, business people, young people, and some hot girls too. the bar is kind of weird; you sit inside facing another bar that is outside, which is fine except if you're by yourself it seems like you're staring at people across the bar. luckily there are tv's all over to fix this.
for as busy as they were, the 2 bartenders that helped me were on their a-game, kept my beer full. i ordered a lamb burger and it was AWESOME. one of the best burgers i've ever had, and that's saying a lot because i'm critical when it comes to food. a couple of the workers there also said that was their favorite item on the menu (my bro insists the fish and chips is the best he's had), although the pizza is supposed to be really good too.
i stuck with the ipa, they didn't really have anything else on tap that piqued my interest.
overall, this place is awesome, but be prepared to wait for a table if you're with a group. worth the wait for sure. and...make sure to check out growler phil's across the street, they have 30-some taps and its only about $10 a fill.

My first time visit to this brewpub. This place is the polar opposite of the Silver Moon pub.
From the outside, everything about this place looks impressive. Granted, it was a beautiful day in Bend, but on this day I just loved the indoor/outdoor bar arrangement they have here. This place is undeniably popular; at 3:00 on a Saturday both the dining room area to the right and the bar area to the left were virtually packed, with a lot patons standing near the bar with their drinks. There is also a sizeable patio area, which is also terrific, and was also very full on the afternoon I stopped by. There's something of an upscable vibe to this place (lots of good looking, young, athletic types in the bar area), plus they had several TV's in the bar area (all turned to college football games). Anyway, I quite liked the atmosphere/vibe here, and thought the bar area a great place to hang out with a beer.
As for the selection, I think they had 13 or 14 different beers on tap the day I was there. They run a lot of specials here, which made the menu a bit confusing, but I think they also offer cask beer here, as well as at least one offering from the sister pub in Idaho (if I understood the menu correctly). The servers were pretty harried on this day, but were pleasant and quick enough otherwise. 10 barrel has a pretty good size liquor selection, and a lot folks were ordering cocktails and the like. Anyway, I wanted to try something unique to the brewpub (the menu lists what beers are only available at the pub), so I asked for a sample pour of Pray for Snow and the Zam IPA. I didn't care for either, and wasn't impressed by them. So I ordered a glass of the Falconator RIS (served in a 12 ounce snifter for $6), which I liked a lot more. It still didn't wow me, but it was enjoyable.
Didn't order any food, but what I saw on the menu looked pretty decent. Prices struck me as a bit high, but given the trendy, upscale vibe to this place, that didn't surprise me.
If the beer was better, I'd probably come here a lot. However, I really wasn't thrilled with anything I tried here, so I'm not sure this is a place I need to come back to any time soon. There are plenty of good alternatives in Bend, so will probably seek them out the next time I'm in town.

We went here 3 different times in a long weekend in Bend. This was by far my favorite brewery in town. They have a nice outdoor patio area as well as a cool bar that is open seating on both sides. The beer is outstanding, besides Boneyard maybe its the best Bend has to offer. The food is also great, we had the steak/Gorganzola nachos and the shrimp tacos as well as the proscuttio/chicken pesto pizza. The only bad thing for me was it it a little too kid friendly their were tons of kids running around like it was a goddamn playground on a Monday night and behind us there was a table with 6 kids and 2 adults that were not paying attention to them at all....thats not the fault of the brewery but I'm just saying next time I wont sit in the family friendly area I'll wait for a spot at the bar.

10 Barrel has a really nice space, wide open with lots of outdoor seating options. The outside bar is unique and quite an interesting design concept. Otherwise, there are nice tables outside and inside, as well as a long open raised table in the middle of the main room. Was a bit crowded both times I was there, a weekday evening and a weekend day, but not too bad.
Beer selection was pretty solid. They had 11 or 12 beers on tap when I was there. Lots of hoppy offerings and some unusual brews as well, such as Swill, their radler. The stout was probably my favorite but I also enjoyed all the hoppy beers they made, and there were quite a few.
Service was pretty good, considering how crowded they were, was easily able to order a sampler from the bar and take it to a bench outside.
Definitely worth checking out, for the beer and for the general ambiance of the brewpub.

This place rocks! Great beer as expected, but the food is out of this world and for what I think is a cheap price. Service was fantastic and the outdoor patio in the summer was superb! This is on my must-hit list every time I'm in Bend! If you've not been here before I recommend getting the beer sampler and plan on sitting for a bit to take it all in!

Passing through Bend, OR for only two days, it was hard to refuse going to the Deschutes brewpub for a second time, however after spending some time at 10 Barrel, I am glad I did. 10 Barrel is in my view an ideal local brewpub. I tried the apocalypse IPA and the sinister black, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of both. The service here is quick, especially if you don't mind sharing a table with a friendly stranger. The food is above average for a brewpub, and was reasonably priced. After a long day of mountain biking or skiiing in the forests, this is the place to be for hearty food and great ales.
