An unfiltered wheat ale brewed with orange peel and coriander. 50% wheat malt and a touch of oats for smooth flavor with a slight tartness.

June 2018...pours hazy gold, murky. Foam settles out. Subtle citrus wheat based nose. Wehaty taste, then slips to an orange/orange peel flavor. Coriander too. Lightly carbonated mouthfeel.

16oz glass at Beer Revolution Oliver YEG. FINALLY!
This beer appears a rather cloudy, medium apricot yellow hue, with one skinny finger of wispy and fizzy off-white head, which leaves pretty much nil in terms of lace anywhere near the glass as it quickly abates.
It smells of grainy, gritty pale malt, soft earthy yeast, red apple skin, a tame hard water flintiness, faint savoury table pepper spice, and weak leafy, floral hops. The taste is sharp, kind of phenolic yeast, a certain dusty ashiness, weird cold plastic esters, fading grainy, crackery pale and wheat malt, muddled pome fruit, a soft earthy spice, and more plain weedy, leafy hop bitters.
The carbonation is kind of tight and edgy in its stern frothiness, the body medium-light in weight, and generally smooth, I suppose, but that unholy yeastiness takes things down a peg or two. It finishes dry and tacky, the yeast and lingering pale malt not really making a case for, well, anything.
Not the best witbier by any stretch of the imagination, as that weird edginess kind of takes over matters soon after the get-go. However, once acclimatization sets in, the idea of summer indulgence starts to seep in - or maybe it's just the sunshine finally arriving on this thus far dreary June Friday afternoon.

On tap at Beer Revolution in Calgary.
Hazy, yellow gold color, fizzy white foam.
Smell of coriander, orange citrus, yeast.
All same flavors as in the aromas. Wheat malt, orange peel, coriander or other spice, finishes with dry yeast bite.
Lots of carbonation leaves a crisp finish.
Refreshing and clean, overall a decent Witbier.
