Beauregarde is our first ever use of blueberries and we couldn't be happier with how this beer turned out. We added an incredible amount of fruit to our barrel aged, sour blonde ale and the result is just as expected. A lovely shade of reddish purple with flavors of tart blueberries, just in time for summer. Perfect along side a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

2017 edition enjoyed in July 2021. Yep, this is a blueberry bomb! Their base beer is a masterpiece and clearly they can’t go wrong with any variant. Wonderful, fruited sour. The blueberries really make this perfectly tart in every way.

Shit is trippin me out how I can have had a beer around literally a dozen times and still haven't reviewed it. Shit I was just talking about this beer on Saturday at the Nevada/UNLV game when we had that Tilquin blueberry.
Anyways, pours a purple color without viscosity you sometimes see in those darker colors. Lighter more pink colored head that settles into a smallish 1/4" head. Aroma is blueberry and lemon, with some American oak behind it.
Taste is a really good and clean blueberry note. That sourness is probably a 7 on the 10pt scale and the acidity is probably a 7 as well. And yet, I can power through a whole bottle of this myself if I pregame antacid wise. Even though those things are pretty pronounced, they don't detract from the beer. Anyways, back to the Tilquin comparison. This is definitely a wild ale, lacks the funk or lambic like notes, just goes all power sour without those deft touches. Dry finish.
But its also about 1/2 the cost of that beer. I almost always pick up multiples of this, its straight forward and likeable.

look: Like hazy raspberry ale. Big plush pinkish head on the pour.
smell: Tart, and funky fruit. Some vanilla oak shows up as it warms a bit.
taste: Much like the nose. A nice dry tart finish.

blueberries and lots of wood. spice and a firm hop herbal. grasses that are just bitter even to the nose. the wood sinks a bit as a gentle sweet funk cmes up to to meet the blueberry. a vinegary note on the nose. pours almost a hot pink. fast falling head of eggshell colored foam. very hazy but not opaque. A malty sweetness also seems to come forward a bit shyly to reveal the sweetness of the blueberry. Drinks like a tart blueberry. This beer had the most hop presence so far of the beer I have tried form them and the most abv so far. I think these hops are a bit citrusy too. finishes with a sour that has a sweet little kiss under it. So the mouthfeel is just slightly different form the other beers I have had which finish completely dry. For instance in the dry beers with the sour finish your entire mouth is even in the swallow. In this beer the focus is on the throat or the back palate after a burst of mouthwatering acidity . I think this beer is going to compliment my dish because of that sweetness which belongs to the base style here, the blonde ale. sweet cracker malt. How about blueberry chicken?
