Notes:
Sour Rye ale with peaches added. Aged in oak barrels. Deliciously sour, bursting with spicy rye notes and hints of oak from the barrels it was aged within.

Shared with JLindros, reviewed from notes.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a murky orange juice with a tinge of grey. Like one solid mass colour. One finger white head that fades to a light, thin blanket with minimal lacing.
S - Aromas of light faint peach, some passion fruit, super floral...but damn I want more peach.
T - Taste is..well..fun. Almost none of the base beer is left. That said, there is good rye spice...the peach is there, just not quite juicy or pit flavours as it is somewhere in between the two. More bready malts than the regular version, this is still tasty and its crazy how adding peaches into this beer could change it so much.
M - Mouthfeel is super sharply carbonated, almost distractingly so.
O - Overall, a solid beer but I feel the regular was superior. Kind of strange how the addition of peaches seems to actually lessons the peach characteristics in this beer. Weird.

Rocked a bottle while tailgating before the first game of the Nevada/SDSU baseball series. Future 1st round pick Shipley pitching!
Pours the color of a peach, off to a great start, it even produced a pretty head on it, 3/5" range. Even for being poured into a "red solo cup" (ah damn, one of the worst songs ever), it still had great retention, and did its best to give lace on the slick surface.
Aroma, juicy and sour. We're doing great here. The peach is all over it, smells like a peach and apricot blend. Thinking Cascade already. The taste hits you with a MASSIVE amount of fruit and sourness. The rye still makes for a sturdy body. Alcohol, nowhere to be found in the mouthfeel. Plenty of citrus to taste throughout it. Are peaches even citrus? Anyways, it has that orange like citrus sweetness. I don't want to understate this: its deliciously sour. Sourheads rejoice!
Would never have thought they could really improve sour in the rye, but lo and behold, this is better than the original. Now if you were huge on the rye, you might be disappointed, because the rye, from a taste perspective, is not as pungent as it was in the base version. But don't lose sight of the fact that the rye still makes a very nice foundation for the beer, even if the spice aspect of it isn't there. The caramel undercurrent is minimal and well placed. Oak in the right amount.
One of the best new beers of 2013. Maybe the best so far.

Thanks for sharing Chad! Pours a hazy orange color with a golden hue. Large whit head that goes down quickly. Scent is absolutely magnificent. Smells like normal SitR, but with a heavy peach presence. It basically smells like the beer was ran through a randall with peaches, which says a lot for a bottle conditioned beer. The oak and rye are still heavy in the nose, but fresh peaches come through nicely. Taste is just as lovely. The peaches are not as noticeable at first, but as the beer warms, the peach flavors STAND OUT. So much peach... with some rye spiciness and slightly acetic. This beer is DAMN GOOD. I wish I had the luxury of opening this bottle side by side with normal SitR, but I am not a member of HS. I'm very happy I got to try this amazing beer. Almost flawless.
