On Tap
The Bruery
Placentia, CA
Murky, darker yellow with a bit of gold. Creamy, persistent near-white head. Spots of stick left down the glass. Appropriately pretty pale ale.
Some citrus hop elements peeking through around simple bread and grain notes. Simple and straightforward and not terribly aromatic. A touch of sweetness as well.
Moderate bitterness, some mild citrus and pine elements peeking through, and sweet grains and bread. Incredibly drinkable.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Crisp. Disappearing.
A nice, thirst-quenching pale ale made for SoCal's warm weather days.

A: A very hazy pale yellow body with a lacy white head.
S: Very similar to Sierra Pale Ale but with a very slight Belgian spiciness to it. It has very little hop character.
T: There is a little hop bite up front with no citrus, pine, or fruit flavors. The slightly spicy malty background has some pepper and earthy tones to it.
M: Nice body and carbonation but both could be a little heavier.
O: A good pale ale but nothing to go out of your way for. Like I said earlier, on par with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

On tap for the Bruery Initiation Celebration held at The Phoenix Club in Anaheim, CA.
Pours a murky dark yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, citrus zest, spices, and a Belgian yeast aroma. Taste is much the same with hop and yeast flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a very yeast and spice forward presence.

Thanks merc for bringing a growler of this to the tasting.
The beer pours a slightly hazy amber golden yellow with a loose white head that dissipates quickly...looks like a wheat beer. The nose is hoppy with notes of bubblegum and citrus fruit. Taste-wise the beer drinks with a lot more grain/wheat sweetness and has a hearty hop profile that's reminiscent of the same citrus fruits found in the nose. The mouthfeel is sweet with a well balanced citrus hoppiness and a slightly lingering wheat graininess. This beer is damn drinkable and worth seeking out for pint or growler.
