A special "one and out" cask of Autumn Maple, this version was aged in cedar. Well, it is October, so it's always a good time for Autumn Maple....with cedar. On to the beer:

Looks amber brown in color with a head that wants to look soapy yet wants to look creamy. Decide already! Head retention is good regardless. The nose brings the cedar first before coming through with the base beer. Cinnamon, vanilla, and yams arise as well. With time, the cedar seems to air out.

No surprise that it comes out very strong. Modestly boozy too. Unlike the aroma, I can't catch much cedar in the beer's taste. Bruery house yeast brings a soft fruitiness to the profile. Cooked yams release their sweetness. Maple hits, as does allspice. It's a full bodied beer, very smooth and lightly carbonated.

This is what The Bruery does, experiment, experiment, experiment. While I didn't get much cedar in the taste, it was fun to try the beer on cask.
